Role

The Benelux Lending team is responsible for a growing and profitable business within Deutsche Bank’s Corporate Bank’s Trade Finance & Lending division (TF&L). The team leads and arranges tailored financings and cross product structuring's for corporates in the Benelux, as well as leveraged finance transactions / acquisition finance and commercial real estate transactions. Examples range from capex financings, M&A, working capital, buyouts/buying, real estate investment loans, ESG loans and many other structures in combination with other products in Deutsche Bank

In this role you will be responsible for origination and structuring new transactions as well as maintaining transactions in the existing portfolio. You will support the growth of the Benelux Lending team and cooperate in cross product transactions. You will be be based in Amsterdam as part of the Lending team and will report to Head Lending Benelux.

Responsibilities

  • Originate: Identify the appropriate financing solutions for clients in Midcap/MNC space
  • Structure: Develop and offer structuring solutions to clients in line with our product offering, and under consideration of financial and non-financial risk appetite of Deutsche Bank and its products
  • Coordinate: Responsible to coordinate with involved stakeholders in line with Lending Risk Appetite and share relevant information with other involved stakeholders members on a a need to know basis
  • Execute: Obtain internal approvals and signoffs of relevant stakeholders, document the transaction from Term Sheet to appropriate Loan Documentation together with in-/external lawyers
  • Monitoring: Continuation of monitoring the risk and reward profile of underlying transactions through the lifetime of the facilities of the portfolio.

Skills

  • Has excellent communication and presentation skills to negotiate internally & externally, often at high level and across different cultures/nationalities
  • Participates in the origination of new transactions, with internal approvals and with investors
  • Develops and implements structuring solutions and exposure strategies autonomously in a deal team and presents them in a comprehensive manner to internal and external counterparties.
  • Evaluates and monitors deal specific risks.
  • Reviews independent reports and recommences a risk-based approach.
  • Monitors performance; regular reviews with operating management of clients, and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Co-operates pro-actively with clients, and with stakeholders predominantly with Coverage and Risk functions
  • Complies with Deutsche Bank’s policies and procedures, adheres to an open speak up culture, and respects regulatory and legal requirements including, but not limited to Market Abuse Regulations and Conflict of Interest Requirements.
  • Makes decisions guided by policies in standard and nonstandard situations.
  • Solves complex problems; takes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions
  • Strong skills in analyzing credit structures including financial models, forecasts and downside risks, counterparty risk, and non-financial risks.
  • Strong skills in drafting and analyzing term sheets and other legal documentation – in co-operation with legal advisors - including security documents and legal opinions.
  • Resilient and committed with the ability to deliver within tight deadlines and under (time) pressure.
  • Minimum Master University Degree, preferably with 1-5 years of working experience in relevant field.
  • Proficient excel modelling skills, PowerPoint presentation skills
  • Proficient in English
  • Fluent Dutch speaker
