How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:
- Review and approve 2D & 3D drawing datasets.
- Perform hand calculations and FEA to ensure product integrity at minimum weight.
- Analyze metallic and composite components, including joints and installations in aircraft for both static and vibration driven environments.
- Develop and build prototypes and run experiments to inform future designs.
- Analyze products for certification based on requirements, and accepted means of compliance.
- Create documentation to support certification deliverables.
- Define and prepare certification test plans, execute and report results to FAA or delegated authorities.
- Collaborate with internal and external manufacturing resources to minimize cost and improve manufacturability.
- Integrate supplier activities that support structural substantiation of source-controlled products, set priorities, provide guidance and requirements, and review their work in detail.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering or related degree from an accredited University.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in an industry setting.
- Proven track record in developing products through a full product life cycle – concept, prototype, validated design, certification and full-scale production.
- Demonstrated experience in structural substantiation on FAA certification programs.
- Ability to perform hand calculations and Finite Element Analysis.
- Highly proficient in one or more FEA tools (e.g. MSC Patran/ Nastran, FEMAP, Altair Hypermesh) for creation and validation of Finite Element Models.
- Composite sizing experience, knowledge of industry best practices and methodologies (CMH-17, AC20-107B, ASTM, FAR 23 and 27 requirements).
- Proficiency of 3D CAD software (3DX Catia V6 preferred).
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills
- Experienced working in production environments, making real-time decisions in resolving non-conformities.
- Leadership skills required to drive projects and deliverables forward.
- Self-starter that is organized, autonomous, and a team player.
Above and Beyond Qualifications:
- Hands-on manufacturing experience in both metallic and composite assemblies.
- Knowledge of performance-based certification processes, and deliverables (FAR23 & 27, ASTM).
- Experience in passenger and medical configurations.
- Modal and vibration frequency response analysis.
