Strengthening Families Program (SFP) - Group Leader

Description

We are searching for charismatic, fully engaged facilitators to be Group Leaders Child sessions of the Strengthening Families Program (SFP). Group Leaders will deliver curriculum lessons to children aged 3-5 years old and activities which are hands on, fun and engaging. A meal is provided at each session. During the meal, group leaders sit with the families and check in with them as well as role model the skills of the program. During the Family Skills Training sessions (when the children and parents/caregivers come together), all group leaders attend and actively support, coach, and facilitate the families while they practice the skills. 

What You Will Doing to Make a Difference...

· Facilitate the SFP Curriculum with fidelity and in alignment with CLAS standards

· Personalize delivery of the curriculum and adapt and tailor examples and role plays to fit participants

· Encouraging respect for ideas voiced during facilitation.

· Steering conversations about the learning material.

· Extracting varied insights from participants.

· Administering data collection forms and monitor attendance.

· Keep accurate records related to program requirements 

· Participate in weekly debriefs after the session and  be open to supervisor feedback

· Attend all required trainings within the specified time frame

· Mandated reporting of abuse and neglect

· Ability to adhere to agency Confidentiality Policy

· Other duties as assigned 

This role is per-diem and does not qualify for standard Bay State Community Services. 

Requirements

Qualifications

· No formal education is required, although a high school diploma or college degree is preferred. 

· Successful completion of the 2 day Strengthening Families Program Group Leader/Facilitator Training (preferred)

· Demonstrable and relevant facilitation experience and working with parent/caregivers, families, or children. 

· Ability to drive critical, participant-led dialogs about learning material.

· Group leaders should be familiar with local and community resources

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Respectful, astute, and accommodating.

· Experience facilitating workshops/trainings/support groups and implementing evidence-based programs with fidelity and in alignment with culturally and linguistically appropriate services (CLAS) Standards is a plus

· Ability to work with diverse communities, including with children and families of different races, ethnicities, ages, abilities and experiences 

· Excellent organizational skills 

· Relevant lived experience is preferred

· Ability to maintain records and to keep records and information in a confidential manner

· Bi-lingual a plus

· Resident of Quincy or familiarity with the Quincy community preferred

· Acceptable CORI and SORI background record check as required by program
