CW39 Houston is redefining what local news looks and feels like — and we’re looking for a Streaming & Digital Executive Producer who’s equal parts creator, strategist, and coach. You’ll lead the charge in growing CW39+, our new streaming platform, by using data and analytics to understand what works, what doesn’t, and why — and then turn those insights into smart, engaging, hyperlocal content that reflects Houston’s energy and diversity.

This is a hands-on leadership role where creativity meets accountability. You’ll not only produce, direct, and host original programming — you’ll also own the streaming and digital strategy: not just what we produce, but how we produce it, measure it, and evolve it. You’ll manage and mentor CW39’s digital team members, driving collaboration, clarity, and consistency across all platforms while ensuring the newsroom’s storytelling standards and digital goals are aligned.

From developing new formats and franchises to refining digital workflows and performance metrics, you’ll be the architect of CW39 Houston’s streaming and digital future — helping us connect with audiences wherever they are.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead development, production, and direction of original CW39+ streaming and digital content
  • Own the streaming and digital strategy — defining both what we create and how the team executes it
  • Manage, coach, and inspire CW39’s digital team members to deliver daily, high-impact content
  • Use analytics to evaluate performance and audience engagement, identifying trends and opportunities for growth
  • Create content that feels Houston — authentic, local, and built for digital-first audiences
  • Serve as on-camera host for select live or breaking segments that connect directly with viewers
  • Oversee studio scheduling, production workflows, and content publishing using OBS Studio and Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Partner with newsroom teams to translate broadcast storytelling into multiplatform digital experiences
  • Monitor KPIs, optimize strategy, and deliver regular performance insights to newsroom leadership
  • Experiment fearlessly — test new ideas, formats, and technologies to keep CW39+ fresh and relevant

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or related field
  • Proven experience in streaming, live production, or digital content leadership
  • Proficiency in OBS Studio, Premiere Pro, and familiarity with live control-room operations
  • Working knowledge of analytics dashboards (YouTube, Social News Desk, Google Analytics, CrowdTangle, etc.)
  • Strong editorial judgment and understanding of digital news standards
  • Experience optimizing video for SEO, social media, and platform-specific engagement
  • A passion for data-driven creativity — using insights to make content stronger, smarter, and more local

Join CW39 Houston and help us write the next chapter of local news — where strategy meets storytelling and Houston is the story.
