Job Description

The Strategy Project Director works with department and System leaders to facilitate the development of plans and processes that support Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta’s mission, vision, and strategy.
The Director consults with operational and physician leaders, Financial Planning, Facilities, and Marketing to provide strategic and business development recommendations. The Director facilitates cross-functional teams to identify solutions to organizational challenges, develops tools and trains leaders to enable them to develop own multi-year plans.
This is a high impact individual contributor role, and reports to the Director of Strategic Planning. This role offers a tremendous opportunity to drive clinical care strategies that positively impact thousands of patients and their families across Georgia.

Job Responsibilities
  • Leads coordination of and collaborates with operational leaders, Financial Planning, Facilities, and Marketing to address strategic business questions related to ideation through approval of a strategy or business case.

  • Utilizes consistent and standard process to develop plans from initiation through approval.

  • Uses project management tools to document progress made with strategic planning and initiatives.

  • Coaches operational leaders (e.g., Service Line Leaders, Senior Vice Presidents, and Chiefs) about process, data analysis, and system strategy to support development of their strategic plans and business cases.

  • Coordinates within team and across organization to ensure projects and strategies are threaded.

  • Leverages competitive intelligence, patient demand, and consumer research provided by strategy planning function.

  • Provides ongoing strategic consultative support to client groups.

  • Produces strategic plans that detail business problems, industry and market drivers and assumptions, vision, interdependencies, and linkage to overall strategy for executive review and to aid decision-making.

  • Delivers business cases that detail business problems, industry and market drivers and assumptions, feasibility, Pro Forma, and market analysis for executive review and to aid decision-making.

  • Serves as Project Manager on large, complex strategy initiatives.

Candidate Requirements

We are seeking candidates with the following attributes:

Experience
  • At least five (5) years of experience in large scale healthcare consulting.

  • Demonstrated experience in developing creative solutions to complex problems.

  • Experience consulting in an academic healthcare environment is strongly preferred.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or related field is required.

  • A master’s degree in business administration is strongly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of emerging healthcare issues, health system models, and trends.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to distill complex information into key messages and clearly and simply communicate in a compelling way to executives.

  • Strong partnering and influencing skills, adept at collaborating with all levels inside an organization, including the highest executive levels of the organization.

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data into actionable insights that influence business decisions.

  • Demonstrated ability to initiate activities and work autonomously, yet collaborative and resourceful.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including demonstrated experience working collaboratively with multiple disparate stakeholders at all levels.

  • Comfortable driving change and embracing innovation in face of ambiguity and complexity.

  • Proven good judgment and discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential information.

  • Must be able to function in dynamic environment subject to impromptu changes in schedules, priorities, and project scope.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
