About the role and team
Uber Eats has become incredibly well adopted in Australia and New Zealand in both consumer numbers and frequency and this role will answer key strategic consumer growth questions to drive our next phase of growth. They will define what our affordability strategy will be, how we get the most out of the partnerships we operate and develop an overarching full consumer lifecycle strategy.
This is a high-visibility individual contributor role with Delivery-wide scope. You will set strategy, build the analytical foundation behind it, win alignment from the ANZ Delivery Leadership Team and cross functional teams, and then drive execution through dotted line management across the broader consumer team.
What you’ll do
(1) Own the ANZ consumer value strategy for Uber Eats, end-to-end
- Build and own a unified view of total consumer value across every lever, holding the key to ensuring all our teams across APAC and local work together to create a coherent value strategy.
- Review our current seasonal and membership value moments and propose how we go to market with great value in 2027.
(2) Build the long-term strategy for our key partnerships
- Define the vision for our key delivery partners, setting out clear XPs that need to be completed in the next year to support future deals.
- Size and prioritise the growth opportunities with our current partners.
- Define what success looks like for partnerships and present recommendations during deal cycles.
- Partner with Business Development, Membership & Mobility to turn the strategy into a committed joint roadmap.
(3) Refine our lifecycle promotional strategy across Restaurants and Retail
- Design one lifecycle promotional architecture that works across Restaurants, Grocery and Retail
- Define the right offer, at the right moment, in the right channel, by cohort — and the cross-vertical sequencing to lift frequency and retention.
- Build the measurement standard: holdouts, incrementality, cost per incremental active, and a clear read on promo efficiency (iGB per dollar) that the business trusts.
(4) Build the consumer growth strategy for a growth bet
- Own the consumer side of one of ANZ's growth bets.
- Build the demand-side strategy to drive awareness & discovery and ultimately into a habitual use cases
- Define the cohort targeting and investment plan for the consumer push
- Set consumer targets, own the forecast, and be accountable for closing the gap between organic trajectory and plan.
Basic Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in strategy, consumer growth, growth marketing, consulting, investment banking, or a comparable analytical commercial role — including meaningful time in-house at a consumer technology, marketplace, retail or loyalty business.
- Demonstrated ownership of consumer growth campaigns end to end: cohort strategy, offer design, channel execution, incrementality measurement, and the iteration loop that follows.
- Deep strategic analytics capability. You are fluent in SQL and comfortable building your own analysis rather than commissioning it; you can design an experiment, read an elasticity curve, and separate correlation from causation.
- Proven ability to present complex data to senior stakeholders. You can take a messy, ambiguous, multi-variable problem and land it as a clear recommendation with an executive audience — and defend it.
- Strong commercial and P&L judgement: you understand unit economics and can connect a consumer-facing decision to a financial outcome.
Track record of influencing and delivering through cross-functional teams without direct authority.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with pricing, fees, promotions, subscription/membership, or loyalty programs — ideally owning the value proposition rather than just executing against it.
- Experience in two-sided marketplaces, on-demand delivery, quick commerce, grocery/retail, airline or coalition loyalty.
- Experience designing lifecycle/CRM programs with cohort-level targeting and holdout-based measurement.
- Familiarity with experimentation platforms and causal inference methods; comfort working directly with Data Science and Engineering partners.
- Experience building a strategy from scratch in an ambiguous space and taking it through to funded execution.
- MBA or equivalent analytical post-graduate qualification
