Fix B2B Telecom.
The Role

The Company: Lightyear builds software that is revolutionizing how enterprises buy, manage, and optimize telecom — one of the largest and most complex categories of enterprise spend. Lightyear’s platform helps IT and procurement teams automate telecom procurement, network inventory management, and expense management across hundreds or thousands of locations.
Lightyear is trusted by leading enterprises including Honeywell, Alo Yoga, Palo Alto Networks, and Louis Vuitton, and has raised over $60M from the first investors in Roblox, Discord, Coupang, Robinhood, and Flexport as it scales toward becoming the system of record for enterprise telecom.
The Position: As a Go-to-Market Strategy & Ops Associate, you will sit at the intersection of our customers, product, and go-to-market teams, helping build the foundational systems, playbooks, and operating rhythms that will scale Lightyear’s customer experience and directly support retention, expansion, and long-term revenue growth.
You’ll guide customers through the full lifecycle with a focus on onboarding, enablement, renewals, and identifying and driving expansion opportunities, using data and structured engagement to influence outcomes at scale. You’ll spend time ensuring that our customers achieve successful outcomes and work cross-functionally with our Sales, Operations, and Product teams.
As the first Strategy & Ops hire within our Customer Success function, you will help design, refine, and execute the foundational playbooks, tooling, and processes that scale Lightyear’s customer experience and GTM motion, operating with a high degree of ownership and comfort in an ambiguous, fast-evolving environment where you are often defining the “right answer” rather than executing a predefined one.
This role is designed to grow into the right hand of the Head of Customer Success, with early exposure to executive decision-making and responsibility for building repeatable, scalable systems from the ground up.
This position will be full-time and fully remote with competitive total cash compensation ranging from $120-145k based on experience and additional equity compensation.
Key Responsibilities

  • Build strong, lasting relationships with IT managers, procurement teams, and other customer stakeholders, earning trust as a strategic partner rather than a reactive support resource
  • Design and implement scalable systems and workflows, including automation, tooling, and AI-assisted processes, that reduce manual effort and enable the CS team to scale without linear headcount growth
  • Deliver relevant training and enablement materials to customers to ensure they have confidence and success with the Lightyear platform
  • Measure, analyze, and communicate impact using product analytics and financial metrics, building dashboards and automated reporting to surface trends, risks, and opportunities across the customer base
  • Prepare and deliver quarterly business reviews that connect customer goals with Lightyear’s product impact
  • Directly impact GDR and NDR by owning customer renewals, proactively identifying account risks, and leading opportunities for expansion in partnership with Sales
  • Advocate for customers internally by translating qualitative feedback and quantitative data into clear recommendations, and embedding those learnings into scalable processes rather than one-off solutions

Ideal Qualifications
  • 2+ years experience post-undergrad in top-tier consulting, investment banking, high-growth startups, or similarly rigorous, analytically demanding operating environments
  • Proven ability to operate with high velocity, balancing hands-on execution with strategic thinking in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
  • High degree of comfort with Excel including the ability to spot trends, interpret reports, and refine/build dashboards
  • Comfort operating in ambiguous environments with limited precedent, and a bias toward action over perfection
  • Interest in building systems, workflows, and automation (including leveraging AI tools) to scale impact beyond individual execution
  • Bonus if located in Austin (Hiring Manager is based in Austin)

This is a true founding role for someone who wants to move beyond execution into building the infrastructure that enables teams to scale, combining analytical rigor, customer-facing ownership, and modern automation to create durable, company-defining impact as Lightyear grows.

What We Do

Lightyear (https://lightyear.ai) is the only digital workflow and system of record platform that unlocks efficiency across the full lifecycle for enterprise telecom services, revolutionizing the telecom experience to drive material time and cost savings. Lightyear's Procurement platform automates RFP creation, quoting, install management, and more for internet, WAN, voice, and colocation services, reducing time spent on procurement materially while network intelligence and pricing data ensures enterprises select the optimal solution at the lowest cost. Lightyear's Network Inventory Manager creates a digital system of record for enterprise networks, tracking 30+ data points per service (static IPs, contract details, account IDs) and automating lifecycle management workflows such as MACD ticketing and renewal re-shopping. Lightyear's Bill Consolidation software offers enterprises one consolidated bill for all telecom services, eliminating the headache of tracking invoices and handling audits while avoiding service disruptions.
