Role Summary 

The Strategy & Operations Associate plays a central role in driving execution, coordination, and performance visibility across ALX Nigeria. This role sits at the intersection of strategy, operations, and data, ensuring that leadership priorities translate into structured execution and that the organisation operates with clear visibility into performance. The role combines: 

  • Strategic coordination 
  • Executive Support 
  • Operational execution 
  • Data analysis and reporting 

Working closely with the Regional GM and functional leads, the Associate supports the organisation by: 

  • Coordinating key initiatives 
  • Building and maintaining dashboards and reporting systems 
  • Synthesising insights for decision-making 
  • Ensuring strong execution across teams 

Embedded within the Operations function and working closely with the Business Intelligence team, the role leverages existing data systems to support operational reporting without owning core data infrastructure.

The ideal candidate is a high-calibre operator with strong analytical capability, able to move between strategy, execution, and data with precision and clarity. 

Specific Responsibilities 

In this role, you will: 

  • Coordinate the execution of strategic priorities across teams, ensuring alignment on timelines, ownership, and deliverables. 
  • Build, maintain, and continuously improve dashboards and reporting systems supporting: 

Weekly leadership updates 

Performance scorecards 

Monthly business reviews 

OKR tracking 

  • Translate business needs into clear data and reporting requirements, working with BI teams to implement them effectively. 
  • Analyse operational and performance data to surface trends, risks, and opportunities that inform decision-making. 
  • Develop high-quality executive reports, summaries, and presentations for leadership and stakeholders. 
  • Track progress across key initiatives, ensuring clear visibility into performance, bottlenecks, and dependencies. 
  • Run regular data quality checks, identifying inconsistencies and working with data owners to resolve issues. 
  • Document metric definitions, reporting logic, and KPI structures to ensure consistency across teams. 
  • Support leadership operating rhythms by providing data inputs for: 

Weekly reviews 

Sprint updates 

Monthly and quarterly business reviews 

  • Identify opportunities to automate reporting processes and improve access to data for non-technical teams. 
  • Support cross-functional projects and special initiatives, building tracking systems and quantifying impact. 
  • Respond to structured ad-hoc data and analysis requests from leadership and operations teams.
  • Provide meeting support, including agenda preparation, slide preparation, note-taking, and tracking of action items. 
  • Ensure the Regional GM has clear visibility into:
    • Performance and pacing against targets
    • Key risks and issues
    • Strategic opportunities 

Skill Requirements - Essential 

  • 3–5 years of experience in strategy, operations, consulting, business operations, or project management roles. 
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to synthesise complex information into clear insights. 
  • Exceptional ability to create high-quality presentations and slide decks for executive audiences. 
  • Strong organisational and project management skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Experience building dashboards or structured reports to support decision-making.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate effectively in fast-paced environments. 
  • Experience working cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders. 
  • Experience working with BI or data teams and understanding data structures.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments. 
  • Experience building dashboards and reports using tools such as: 
    • Looker Studio 
    • Tableau 
    • Power BI or similar 
  • Proficiency in:
    • Google Slides / PowerPoint 
    • Google Sheets / Excel
    • Google Docs
    • AI Tools BI tools such as Looker Studio, Tableau, or similar platforms. 

Skill Requirements - Preferable

  • Experience working in high-growth environments such as startups, consulting firms, or technology organisations. 
  • Experience supporting senior leadership or executive teams. 
  • Familiarity with OKR frameworks and performance management systems. Exposure to expansion, market entry, or growth initiatives. 
  • Experience supporting strategic planning or organisational transformation initiatives. 
  • Experience in improving reporting processes or automating workflows. 
  • Exposure to data pipelines, integrations, or analytics systems.
