The Role
Company Description

Te Tākinatanga - Our Story

At Contact, we believe home is the most important place in the world. That belief shapes everything we do, from leading the energy transition to how we power Aotearoa and care for our people and communities.

We’re a power, broadband, and mobile company, but we’re also investing boldly in renewable energy and smarter, more connected ways of working (mahi). Our ambition is simple: to leave Aotearoa better than we found it.

Guided by our tikanga, we’re a team who care deeply about the work we do, how we support one another, and the impact we have. Simply put, we touch lives to make life better.

We’re here to help Aotearoa thrive in a net-zero future. That means making bold choices, investing for the long term, and being clear and confident about where we’re heading and why it matters.

Our Strategy & Investor Relations team sits at the heart of that story. We work across the business to shape Contact’s enterprise strategy and translate it into a clear, credible narrative for our Board, our kaimahi (people), and the capital markets.

This role exists now because the scale, complexity, and pace of change in our sector has increased. With a refreshed enterprise strategy in place, we’re leaning into strong investor engagement, and clear market communication. This role plays a critical part in making that happen.

This mahi (work) directly influences how Contact is understood, trusted, and supported as we deliver on our strategy and long-term ambitions.

Job Description

Te Whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

This role operates across enterprise strategy and investor relations, with real influence and visibility.

You’ll work closely with the Head of Strategy & Investor Relations, senior leaders, and subject matter experts across Contact to ensure our strategy is robust, well tested, and clearly communicated.

Your impact will come through in:

  • Owning key elements of enterprise strategy development, testing, and refresh

  • Developing and translating commercial, market, and business performance insights into clear strategic narratives

  • Supporting investor and analyst engagement through high‑quality financial and operational analysis, materials, and messaging

  • Playing a central role in results cycles, disclosures, and market‑facing communications

  • Lifting capability across the function, enabling senior leaders to focus on broader leadership and decision‑making

This is not a narrow “crank‑the‑model” role. It’s about judgement, influence, and connecting the dots across our complex organisation.

Qualifications

Ko wai koe | About You

You’re someone who enjoys operating at the intersection of strategy, markets, and people.

You’re comfortable with ambiguity, confident engaging at senior levels, and motivated by work that has real organisational impact.

You’ll likely bring:

  • Strong strategic and critical thinking, with the ability to challenge and synthesise complex information

  • Solid commercial and financial acumen, including credible financial modelling capability

  • Experience navigating complex organisations or markets and the ability to bring others along the journey

  • Polished communication skills, with experience in preparing high-calibre board-level and / or market-facing materials

  • Confidence working with senior leaders and stakeholders, even when views diverge

  • Intellectual curiosity and a genuine interest in how businesses create value

Bonus points if you’ve worked in capital markets, investment analysis, funds management, or a listed environment. But what matters most is your ability to think, influence, and learn quickly.
