The Position

As the Strategy Deployment Manager, you will partner with PT (Pharma Technical) global functions and PTM (Pharma Technical Manufacturing) Leadership to translate the Pharma and PT vision into a tangible, actionable long- and mid-term strategy. In a landscape of increasing complexity, you will be instrumental in ensuring the PTM organization’s strategic alignment with the overarching Pharma and PT vision, helping to foster a unified direction across the PTM network.

In this role, you will translate high-level ambitions into tangible, actionable roadmaps and act as the bridge between global strategy and site-level execution. You will ensure that the implementation of new capabilities, risk mitigation strategies, product PPQs, and other strategic initiatives are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

The Opportunity
  • Strategy Deployment Process: Partner with PT global functions and PTM Leadership to define 5-year PTM goals and ambitions, cascading them into concrete short-term objectives and KPIs for the network and individual sites, while ensuring integrated business planning of all key strategic projects.

  • Facilitation & Alignment: Support the preparation of and facilitate PTM LT F2F and strategy meetings to ensure alignment on goals and strategic initiatives of PTMLT F2F and other PTx functions.

  • Roadmap & Portfolio Oversight: Maintain and own the strategic roadmap at both network and site levels, actively monitoring the PTM portfolio, tracking key initiatives and milestones, and identifying and resolving bottlenecks to deliver intended business results.

  • Project Execution & Governance: Establish conditions for successful execution—including prioritization, resource allocation, and budget management—ensuring endorsement from relevant governance bodies and driving the successful delivery of key PTM network projects.

  • Site Implementation Support: Provide critical support to site teams during the implementation of new capabilities, overseeing technology ramp-up and PPQ RFT, and acting as a primary partner for local teams in resolving implementation challenges to align with strategic timelines.

  • Risk Management Leadership: Own the risk management process for the PTM organization, leading the internal manufacturing network of risk and business continuity managers, and ensuring regular revision of strategies and alignment with site and PT-wide processes.

  • Mitigation & Escalation: Derive key initiatives required to reduce the "circle of concerns" for the network, lead specific strategic initiatives, drive risk mitigation actions, and ensure transparent communication and timely escalation of risks.

Who You Are
  • Education & Experience: Holds an advanced degree (Master/MBA/PhD) in a scientific or technical field, paired with 10+ years of extensive manufacturing experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry (experience with DP, device, and FG manufacturing preferred).

  • Project & Operational Expertise: Proven project management experience leading complex, multi-site projects in a global environment, with a deep understanding of lean manufacturing, supply chain, quality standards, and P&L impact (understanding of DP operations preferred).

  • Strategic & Change Agility: Possesses a proven ability to synthesize complex information into conclusive storylines and actionable decision recommendations, acting as a natural change agent who champions innovation and cultivates a culture of experimentation.

  • Lean Mindset & Digital Proficiency: Demonstrates a lean mindset integrated into the "rhythm of business" to solve issues permanently using data-driven insights, alongside a digital affinity to leverage technologies to streamline complex business processes.

  • Communication, Languages & Travel: Highly developed written and oral communication skills to influence senior management, fluent in English (German is a plus), and willing to travel up to 30%.
