The Strategy and Corporate Development team at LivaNova is seeking a summer intern to help shape and execute our corporate strategy and conduct business development initiatives in priority markets. Our team has high impact and visibility across the organization, working on projects that help shape commercial, marketing, clinical, and R&D decisions.
About the Role:
The primary focus of the individual in this role will be furthering strategy and corporate development projects at LivaNova. She or he will work closely throughout the summer with the strategy, corporate development, and analytics teams and will present findings to company leadership.
The internship will include one core project and additional smaller projects/activities over the course of the summer, potentially including:
Supporting the planning and execution of our corporate strategy
Supporting business development efforts for partnership, corporate venture activities, and/or M&A
Working with cross-functional teams to complete market and opportunity assessments
Partnering with commercial leadership to identify critical business needs and challenges
Driving pipeline (new product) research and analysis
Driving qualitative and quantitative market research (e.g., HCP interviews and surveys)
Tracking industry dynamics and market trends
Supporting the development of financial models
Creating presentations that clearly and succinctly deliver insights and recommendations to leadership
About You:
A strong candidate does not need to meet all of the criteria below, and we encourage applicants who can bring additional skills and perspectives to apply.
Currently pursuing or recently graduated from a Master’s program in business or economics (e.g., MBA) or life sciences (e.g., biology, chemistry, physics, biomedical engineering)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to employ structured thinking, formulate relevant questions, and synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insights
Comfort assessing “messy” problems with incomplete or imperfect information
Experience conducting qualitative and quantitative analysis, including market research, competitive assessments, and opportunity sizing
Ability to develop concise, executive-ready presentations and communicate findings effectively to diverse audiences
Collaborative, team-oriented mindset; enjoys working closely with others to advance shared objectives
Demonstrated interest in healthcare, MedTech, life sciences, or related industries; prior exposure is a plus but not required
Intellectual curiosity and enthusiasm for learning about industry dynamics, emerging trends, and evolving technologies, as well as LivaNova’s businesses, markets, and strategic priorities
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively across functions and with stakeholders at varying levels of seniority
Comfort operating in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with multiple concurrent workstreams
Professional maturity, discretion, and integrity when working on sensitive strategic and business development topics
Strong organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills
Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
Nice-to-have: Prior experience in consulting, corporate strategy, finance, venture investing, marketing, product management, and / or the healthcare / medical device industry
Travel Requirements
Limited travel (less than 15%)

12 weeks; May 18th - August 7th
Location
Primarily remote position with a US-based team trip during the summer; opportunities for additional biweekly in-person meetings for internship candidates located in Austin (TX), Boston (MA), Minneapolis (MN) or Houston (TX)
Pay Transparency
A reasonable estimate of the hourly pay range for this position is $35 - $50 per hour. Pay ranges may vary by location will be awarded based on experience.
