The Role

Are you passionate about shaping the future of banking? At ING Wholesale Banking’s Transformation Office, we help WB transform with confidence - across domains, regions, and ambitions. Our mission is to turn strategy into outcomes that are scalable, impactful, and deeply human‑centric. As part of the Transformation Management team, you’ll help orchestrate the change agenda that powers WB’s growth strategy: delivering a distinctive banking experience and building long‑term partnerships with our clients. We align the delivery organization on shared objectives, steer the long‑term WB transformation roadmap, and continuously improve the end‑to‑end delivery engine. We also provide consultancy, process expertise, portfolio steering, and change execution - ensuring that change is not just planned but realized.

You’ll join a community of ~200 specialists within the WB Transformation Office, working across digitalization, change, regulation, customer data, and capital deployment to deliver consistent transformation across all WB business lines.

The Team

You’ll be part of the Strategy Consulting Services Team, the strategic sparring partners for WB leadership. We help define the North Star, shape operating models, and guide leaders through complex decisions that impact the future of Wholesale Banking. Our work combines deep analytical thinking with practical execution, ensuring strategies are not only visionary but actionable. In this team, you’ll influence high-level decisions and translate ambition into clear, scalable plans.

About the Role

We are hiring a Strategy and Business Change Consultant to help shape, design, and deliver the future of our organization. If you are a strategic thinker with strong consulting skills and a passion for driving meaningful change, this role offers the opportunity to make a visible impact across the business. In this role, you will lead and support strategic and organizational initiatives that strengthen our operating model, accelerate decision‑making, and enable teams to deliver better outcomes. You will work across domains, tribes, and functions, partnering closely with senior leadership to translate strategy into actionable plans and ensure alignment across the organization.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead assessments and deep dives to solve complex business challenges and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Shape strategic alignment across Product lines, Sectors, and Operations.
  • Translate transformation strategies into clear objectives, measurable outcomes, and budget needs.
  • Engage and influence stakeholders at all levels to build commitment and drive change.
  • Keep projects on track by anticipating risks and providing data‑driven insights.
  • Develop reusable methodologies, tools, and frameworks for operating model and transformation work.
  • Prepare clear, impactful presentations for senior management (up to MBB level).
  • Coordinate cross‑team initiatives and coach teams to improve agile maturity.
  • Track milestones and dependencies to ensure successful delivery.
  • Support the Lead Transformation Management with high‑priority and ad‑hoc strategic initiatives.

What You’ll Work On

You will contribute to assignments such as:

  • Value proposition and service model design
  • Operating model review & redesign
  • Strategic option and impact analysis
  • Organizational design & transformation
  • Regulatory impact assessments
  • Root cause analysis and solution development
  • Strategic alignment and road mapping
  • Business case development and data analysis

What You Bring:

  • 5–10 years of experience in consulting and/or transformation roles, including experience within external consultancy environments
  • Master’s degree + relevant certifications (Lean Six Sigma, Agile, Change Management, etc.)
  • Strong consulting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to simplify complexity and drive actionable outcomes
  • High organizational awareness and stakeholder sensitivity
  • Collaborative mindset with the confidence to challenge constructively
  • Adaptability, resilience, and comfort with ambiguity
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (English)
