Business & Team
Retail Banking Services (RBS) is the public face of CommBank, delivering a seamless banking experience for the future, to our 10 million + personal and small business customers. We offer market-leading products and services, supported by some of the world’s best systems and processes.
RBS Consumer Finance manages the development and delivery of all retail credit products, including Credit Cards, Personal Loans and Simple Credit products including Buy Now Pay Later.
The Credit Risk and CommAssets Crew within RBS Consumer Finance is accountable for managing all credit risk lending policies, strategies, automated decisioning, models and Comprehensive Credit Reporting, in conjunction with the data and systems that support this activity across Consumer Finance.
Your Impact & Contribution
As a member of the Credit Risk and CommAssets Crew, you will be responsible for development and implementation of credit risk strategies, including but not limited to, data-driven business rule changes, using models to set optimised profit decisions, and various strategies to drive acquisition and manage risk for CommBank’s Credit Card and BNPL Portfolios.
Having strong credit risk business acumen, solid analytical and technical skills, and an understanding of credit decisioning systems will set you up for success in this role. Experience driving and delivering Credit Risk initiatives and changes end-to-end is highly preferred. You will report to a Product and Solutions Chapter Lead and be an integrated member of your squad on a daily basis.
Your Roles & Responsibilities

Leverage insights to drive innovation and deliver new credit risk strategies and product features using data and analytics

Optimise origination policies and take accountability of the delivery of new credit risk strategies for unsecured products

Use acquisition models to make decisions optimised for profit, whilst balancing account growth and exposure

Work collaboratively with key stakeholders across Consumer Finance Crews, including modelling, technology, and product teams

Provide senior leadership team with recommendations for credit strategy optimisation

Support world-class credit decisioning system migrations and upgrades

Identify and manage risks, dependencies, and issues in line with the requirements of operational risk and compliance outcomes

Communicate project status, blockers, dependencies, issues, and risks to a variety of stakeholders
Your Skills and Experience
-
In-depth knowledge of credit risk business & technologies, ideally in originations and/or credit underwriting of unsecured products

Strong insight and analytical experience, with the ability to navigate through the complex datasets using analytical tools e.g., SQL, R, Teradata, or Python

Proficiency in advanced modelling techniques for credit risk decisioning to optimise credit risk outcomes

Demonstrable experience of leading an initiative from inception to implementation in collaboration with a cross-functional team and various stakeholders, including writing & communicating business requirements with a technology team, leading the pre & post implementation testing and validations

Demonstrable ability to challenge the status quo, and a keen eye for process improvement

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Experience working in an agile environment
