Hastings Deering (Australia) LtdHelp shape Sime’s futureGroup Strategy (Brisbane) is growing. With an expanding pipeline of work, we’re looking for a Strategy Analyst to join our dynamic, high-performing team and support strategy development across Sime.
Working across Group-level and divisional priorities (including Industrial, Motors and UMW), you’ll contribute to a wide range of interesting, high-impact strategic work - supporting analysis that informs choices that drive long-term growth and sustainability.
You’ll also gain exposure to senior stakeholders through the work you support, helping ensure decisions are grounded in strong evidence, clear insights and robust analysis.
What you’ll doIn this role, you’ll support strategy projects and planning by:
- Conducting horizon scanning to identify external developments and emerging issues.
- Delivering strategic research and analysis using established frameworks - synthesising information into insights and clear outputs under guidance.
- Supporting market, competitor and macro research using credible sources and structured protocols, and summarising findings into concise insights.
- Producing insights and reporting packs by coordinating inputs, maintaining templates, tracking updates, and ensuring reporting is consistent and high quality.
- Collecting, cleaning and analysing financial, economic and market data using standard tools and templates, ensuring accuracy and consistency in outputs.
- Drafting and updating presentation materials that summarise research and analysis into clear key messages and options, under guidance.
We’re looking for someone with strong research capability, analytical rigour and a clear, structured way of thinking. Ideally, you’ll have:
- 5+ years’ experience in a similar role (research/consultancy experience favourable).
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics or a related field (or equivalent).
- Proven experience conducting primary and secondary research, synthesising findings into practical insights and implications.
- Strong capability in data analysis, market/competitor insight, and building clear reporting outputs.
- Confidence supporting the development of slides/briefings - writing clearly, structuring key messages, and working with templates and feedback.
- Experience in the heavy/automotive sector is favourable (not essential).
