This is a full-time role based in Sydney. We’ll give you the best of both worlds: collaborating closely with our local Australian squad while learning from and trading insights with our global network of experts. You’ll be driving our strategic expertise locally, so a deep familiarity with the Australian media and consumer landscape is a must.

Here’s where you come in.

You are the bridge between brands and culture. As a Strategist, you are a vocal, inventive champion who can take complex data and spin it into clear, actionable, and wildly creative strategic directions. You know marketing fundamentals inside out, but you also have an out-of-the-box perspective on data and social trends.

From overarching brand strategy down to tactical social, content, and influencer strategies — you don’t just plan the work, you build the pitch-perfect decks that sell it.

  • Find the Friction & the Truth: Use qualitative cultural mining and quantitative research to uncover the consumer insights that spark brilliant creative work. You have a proven track record of leveraging industry-standard tools (e.g., GWI, Helix, Roy Morgan, or social listening platforms) to back up your strategic gut instincts with hard data.
  • Think consumer-up: Rather than forcing top-down brand theories, you build strategies from the consumer up. You develop distinct audience segmentations/cohorts based on real online behaviours and conversations to meet consumers exactly where they are.
  • Collaborate & Co-Create: Work hand-in-hand with internal and external teams to build holistic measurement frameworks, and collaborate with creative teams to brief them with clarity and inspiration.
  • Craft & Sell the Story: Act as a master deck crafter. You can articulate an airtight strategic rationale and build compelling narratives that clients buy into instantly.
  • Stay Culturally Obsessed: Bring a relentless curiosity to the team, keeping your finger on the pulse culture and a practitioner of media platforms to inform relevant conversations, trendjacking opportunities and social content opportunities.

Here’s the “Nice To Have” Can?

  • 3+ years of experience as a strategist within a fast-paced media or creative advertising agency, specifically within the Australian market.
  • Autonomy & Drive: Ability to work independently from brief to briefing, delivering high-quality work at pace with high energy and momentum.
  • Clarity & Impact: Exceptional communication skills that ensure strategic concepts and presented ideas are crystal clear, digestible, and compelling for internal teams and clients alike. Can ensure ideas are clear and understood, plus well presented in deck design.
  • Professional & Timely Partnership: Serves as a reliable, responsive point of contact, delivering clear, helpful, and highly professional information to both internal teams and external partners. 
  • Relationship Management: Serves as a reliable, professional, and timely point of contact, delivering helpful information to both internal teams and external partners. Can actively lead collaborative sessions with other teams. 
  • Operational Excellence: Strong ownership of internal QA processes, consistently striving for flawless execution and zero-mistake outputs. Can manage the ongoing performance of different tasks or projects, as well as understanding and ownership of internal processes for quality assurance.
  • Solution-Oriented Mindset: Proactively tackles project challenges with a responsive, constructive, and resilient attitude. Can execute a strong sense of priority level and urgency; and knows how to act on the critical difference between the two.
