Job Description:
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study required, Master’s degree in marketing research, sociology or psychology preferred
Work Experiences:
- 5+ years’ experience in marketing research or customer insights, corporate retail experience preferred
- OR 5+ years’ experience in project management that is related to retail, customer insights, marketing, CPG, or retail
Skills:
- Ability to tell a cohesive story including recommended next steps based on data from various sources (research, analytics, measurement, and competitor intelligence)
- Strong interpersonal, written, verbal communication and presentation skills
- Ability to independently interface effectively with individuals at various levels within the organization and vendors outside of the organization
- Ability to manage end-to-end customer insights projects with multiple vendors across various methodologies
- Self-motivated and able to work independently and within a team setting
- Analytical, with strong problem-solving abilities and creative resolution skills
- Ability to remain organized, pay strict attention to detail, and meet critical deadlines with high volume, fast-paced environment
- Strong understanding of statistical techniques such as correlation and regression
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including building reports with slicers and PowerPoint, including strong story-telling abilities
- Proficiency with cross-tabs

- Customer empathy and bringing the customer to life in poignant ways

Responsibilities:
- Develop and socialize customer insights reports and answer customer insights business questions leveraging our ecosystem – including datasets from other teams in the organization
- Understand the business needs and proactively propose analyses using an unbiased, data-driven approach
- Scope and deliver insights to provide perspective and recommendations on opportunities to grow our share with existing customers, retain customers longer and attract new customers
- Deliver compelling customer insights to internal clients including merchandising, marketing, omnichannel, store ops, real estate and executives.
- Scope out customer insights projects including finalizing the business problem with the stakeholder, budget, timing, vendor selection and methodology
- Design, implement, synthesize and report on quantitative customer insights projects including custom surveys and advanced methodologies such as conjoint or segmentation; responsibilities will include designing questionnaires, managing respondent sampling, analysis of large data sets inclusive of crosstabs and measuring significance of findings leveraging confidence testing.
- Design, implement, synthesize and report on qualitative customer insights projects including focus groups, online discussion boards and in-depth interviews; responsibilities will include discussion guide creation, managing respondent recruiting and day-of logistics
- Present compelling insights materials to influence stakeholders to make informed business decisions
- Develop a thorough understanding of Academy’s policies, procedures and safety rules
- Duties may change; team members may be required to perform other duties as assigned
