BAE Systems is seeking a Test Development Engineer to join our team as a prime contractor supporting the Navy's Strategic Weapon System (SWS). The successful candidate will possess a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment or independently.
The selected candidate will:
- Work collaboratively with experienced mechanical and electrical engineers to develop SWS System Level Test Procedures
- Apply knowledge of engineering principles to support requirements verification and validation
- Develop test requirements, test plans, test procedures, and evaluation techniques to support system integration
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including reports, manuals, and other materials
- Support on-site system-level testing, data collection, data analysis, and documentation
- Track and solve test anomalies and preparing associated test analysis reports
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and implement engineering solutions

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Typical education and related/relevant work experience: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering, or other related science, engineering or technical degree and six years of related/relevant work experience, OR a Master's degree in a technical field and four years of related work experience, OR at least 10 years of SSBN SWS experience in lieu of a degree.

- A proven track record of technical expertise, strong attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks
- Ability to work and communicate with diverse stakeholders, including management, customers, and external contractors, across various levels of the organizational hierarchy
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills, including the ability to provide clear and concise presentations on advanced technical concepts
- Demonstrated time management and organizational skills with the ability to interpret and follow requirements
- Excellent interpersonal skills used when interfacing, coordinating, and negotiating with colleagues, and customers
- Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment and make sound decisions while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles and applicable state and federal laws and regulations
- Currently possess a Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Current D-5 TRIDENT SWS Technical / Operational Knowledge
- SSBN Missile Technician or Navigation Electronics Technician with TRIDENT II SWS/SWSSS deployed experience
- Working knowledge of the Navy Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) organization
- Experience developing test procedures for verification of complex systems
- Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) or Digital Engineering (DE) experience
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM/3D Modeling
- Experience with configuration management software tools, e.g. Windchill
- Working knowledge of IBM Rational DOORS software
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $118095 - $200762
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
