Lead procurement and strategic sourcing for assigned commodity/site: run RFQs, negotiate pricing and terms, onboard suppliers, manage supplier performance and projects, expedite orders, ensure compliance with company policies and export/import regulations, and drive cost savings and working-capital reductions.

As a Strategic Sourcing Specialist here at Honeywell, you will establish and drive procurement of material and services in alignment with business Leadership for your assigned commodity / category and/or site as per Annual Operating Plan and Strategic Plan. You will have site responsibility for driving competitive commodity and category supply strategies to achieve lowest Total Cost for your site, reduced Working capital via Negotiation planning and execution, Sourcing New Vendors, Value Engineering and Sole/ Single Source elimination. You will manage Supplier Performance to support your commodity/category and/or site and ensure supply continuity. You will be managing several projects in dynamic environment. You will ensure compliance with company business policies and procedures, Export / Import regulations. 

  

You will report directly to our Sr ISC Project Mgmt Manager and you’ll work out of our Cambridge, ON location on a onsite work schedule. 

  

In this role, you will impact the company by contributing to cost savings initiatives, strengthening supplier relationships, and supporting the execution of strategic sourcing projects that enhance supply chain efficiency and competitiveness. 


Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities 

  • Experience in leading formal negotiations (price, schedule, and supplier exceptions to contractual flow down requirements, as well as standard Terms and Conditions) 
  • Ability to prepare and issue RFQs (requests for quotes) to suppliers, follow-up to assure understanding 
  • Ability to review quotes, analyze results and determine negotiation plans / strategies as well as addressing any exceptions to flow downs, specifications, quality notes or Honeywell terms and conditions requirements. 
  • Expedite orders when required to ensure on-time shipments 
  • Able to quickly understand processes and ensure adherence to the same. 
  • Must be able to deploy a systematic approach to work and must have an aptitude for performing work functions in a timely and well-organized manner with limited oversight. 
  • Adapt to constantly changing work assignments, consistently make timely decisions while balancing conflicting goals with decisiveness in an ambiguous environment. Ability to work in a fast-paced, autonomously driven, and demanding start-up-like atmosphere. 
  • Ability to clearly and concisely conveys subtle or complex messages to a variety of audiences, both written and verbal.

Qualifications

The Honeywell building is a controlled goods program environment. Candidates must be eligible for CGP and CSP security clearance.   

 

YOU MUST HAVE 

  • Diploma in Materials Management or Technical Certificate 
  • Minimum 2 years in one or more of the following: Procurement, Supply chain, Operations 
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with SAP or site relevant ERP systems, E Sourcing Platforms, Request for Quotation Tools, Project Management Tools 

WE VALUE 

  • 2+ years’ experience in Aerospace procurement or related field (Manufacturing industry) 
  • Working and/or Leading in Site Team Environments 
  • Project Management and / or Contract Management Experience 
  • Professional Certifications in Project / Supply Chain / Procurement/Contract Management 
  • Experience in Supply Management / Sourcing / Procurement / Business 
  • Demonstrated Business and financial acumen 
  • Experience with Six Sigma and Lean Tools 

 

The annual base salary range for this position is $70,100 to $93,400 in Cambridge, Ontario. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.

Skills Required
