ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS  

The Strategic Sourcing Senior Manager is a key leadership role responsible for developing and executing a strategic procurement vision. This includes identifying opportunities for cost savings, mitigating supply chain risk, and ensuring a secure, high-quality supply of components and services critical to our implantable medical devices. The role requires balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. 

OPPORTUNITIES YOU WILL HAVE IN THIS ROLE  

Strategy Development and Execution

  • Develop, implement, and manage end-to-end sourcing strategies for key direct material and contract manufacturing categories. Create and execute comprehensive supplier and commodity strategies that align with business objectives and growth plans.

Supplier Management & Dual Sourcing

  • Lead the development and execution of a dual-sourcing strategy to mitigate supply chain risks, increase capacity, reduce costs and ensure business continuity for critical components and finished devices.
  • Identify, evaluate, and qualify strategic suppliers using a standardized supplier selection process, considering capability, capacity, total cost and quality and regulatory compliance.
  • Strengthen and expand the company's network of domestic and international suppliers to support the current product portfolio and future innovations. 

Contract Management and Risk Mitigation

  • Lead high-level contract negotiations to secure favorable terms, pricing, and conditions for strategic agreements.
  • Work with legal, finance, and other cross-functional teams to manage contractual and operational risks.
  • Develop supplier business continuity plans and proactively address potential supply chain disruptions, such as material shortages or geopolitical challenges. 

Additional Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and enforce a rigorous supplier selection and qualification process in accordance with regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, ISO 13485).
  • Risk Management: Develop and execute supply chain risk mitigation strategies, including dual sourcing, inventory optimization, and business continuity planning.
  • Digital Transformation: Champion the adoption of digital tools and analytics to improve visibility, forecasting accuracy, and decision-making across the supply chain.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Collaborate with procurement to assess, develop, and manage strategic supplier partnerships, ensuring quality, cost, and delivery performance.
  • Change Management: Lead organizational change initiatives related to supply chain transformation, ensuring alignment, communication, and training across impacted teams.
  • Sustainability & ESG: Support corporate sustainability goals by driving initiatives related to responsible sourcing, waste reduction, and carbon footprint minimization.

QUALITY SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITIES­

  • Document product and therapy related field reports within the prescribed timelines and provide any necessary documents required to complete the investigation. Provide follow-up reporting as needed.
  • Complete training requirements and competency confirmations as required for this position within the required timeline.
  • Comply with applicable quality system procedures/policies and make suggestions for continuous process improvement.
  • Ensure all direct reports maintain training records that comply with applicable quality system requirements.

WHAT YOU CAN BRING TO OUR GREAT TEAM

Required: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, operations, or manufacturing within the Med Tech, Pharma, or Life Sciences industry.
  • Proven track record of leading strategy development and execution within a complex supply chain.
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex product transfers and supply chain consolidations.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory and quality requirements in a highly regulated environment (e.g., FDA, ISO 13485).
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred: 

  • Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent operational excellence training.
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.

The salary for this position will be offered at a level consistent with the experience and qualifications of the candidate. This information reflects the anticipated salary range for this position at the time of posting. The salary range may be modified in the future and actual compensation may vary from the posting based on various factors such as geographic location, work experience, education and/or skill level.   

Salary
$106,000$170,000 USD
