Job Description

Tricon Residential, recently acquired by Blackstone, is looking for a high-caliber Sr. Manager, Procurement & Supply Chain to join our growing Supply Chain & Procurement team. The incumbent will be instrumental in developing inventory management strategies, material programs, and leading cross-functional teams to execute strategic initiatives across Tricon’s markets. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in market analysis, vendor management, and cost-effective procurement practices. The role also works closely with Sourcing and Vendor Management teams to ensure all vendors meet and adhere to our company's standards, regulations, and operational requirements, creating a seamless, efficient, and risk-mitigated vendor partnership ecosystem. This role will also concentrate on enhancing relationships will Tricon’s vendor community while helping further develop Tricon’s Strategic Vendor Partners. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in materials management. As part of a rapidly growing company, industry, and department, this position will require innovative thinking and a desire to constantly improve processes and strategies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive supply chain strategy to support the operational needs of Tricon’s single-family rental properties.
  • Oversee demand planning, inventory management, and logistics of Tricon’s fleet and facilities to ensure materials are available when needed without overstocking.
  • Oversee Tricon’s Vacant and Occupied pricing catalogs to ensure pricing is accurate and up to date.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for supply chain efficiency, such as cost savings, delivery lead times, and supplier performance.
  • Oversee Tricon’s purchasing card programs through Home Depot, HD Supply, and Lowe’s
  • Develop and implement Tricon’s Appliance Program for managing all aspects of the appliance lifecycle
  • Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers and vendors for the best pricing, quality, and delivery terms.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key vendors and service providers.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews of suppliers to ensure alignment with quality, cost, and service level expectations.
  • Oversee the procurement of construction materials, appliances, tools, and other necessary supplies for home renovations and maintenance.
  • Develop a strategic sourcing plan to reduce costs, ensure quality, and mitigate supply chain risks.
  • Manage contracts and agreements with suppliers, ensuring compliance with company standards and terms.
  • Manage warehousing, logistics, and the distribution of materials to various work sites and regions as needed.
  • Implement effective inventory management practices, ensuring optimal stock levels and reducing waste.
  • Work closely with maintenance and construction teams to forecast material needs and plan accordingly.
  • Prepare and manage the materials and supply chain budget, ensuring alignment with overall company financial goals.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities while maintaining material quality and availability.
  • Track and report on monthly cost variances, analyzing factors impacting material and supply expenses.
  • Ensure all procurement and supply chain activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and legal regulations.
  • Implement sustainable sourcing practices that align with the company’s environmental and social responsibility goals.
  • Travel up to 30% of the time

  • Demonstrated negotiation skills including a deep understanding supplier contracts
  • Exceptional persuasion and interpersonal skills in order to interact with suppliers, business leaders and all other internal stakeholders
  • Experience with ERP systems, Spend Data Analytics & Reporting, eSourcing, inclusive of eAuctions and contract management systems
  • Writes clearly and informatively and presents numerical data in an easy to digest format
  • Knowledge of Yardi and Real Estate industry / terminology is a significant plus
  • Knowledge of Power BI a plus
  • Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail
  • Demonstrate intellectual curiosity
  • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Demonstrated understanding of purchasing policies, procedures, practices, and the value and use of procure-to-pay (P2P) digital platforms
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; Advanced Excel abilities (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, Index(Match) charting/graphing) preferred

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a materials management or procurement function with heavy exposure to inventory strategies
  • Proven track record of developing and managing RFP’s and RFI’s
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with an ability to conduct detailed cost analyses and market assessments.
  • Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of distribution and warehousing
  • Robust understanding of supply chain management and procurement software. Ariba, Coupa, D365, Yardi, Appian experience preferred
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across various departments.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and requirements
  • Strong organizational skills with an eye for detail
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Proficiency with vendor management software and tools
  • A problem-solving mindset with strong analytical capabilities
