POSITION SUMMARY
This role will lead the supplier on-time delivery performance improvement efforts, local sourcing, and local cost reduction pipeline for their assigned categories/commodities in the Vertiv Americas region. They will promote a lean culture and mindset of continuous improvement and will work closely with suppliers, Category Management, Purchasing, Supplier Quality, Planning, Operations, Engineering and Logistics functions to improve supplier on-time delivery performance and resiliency.
This position is an integral part of the Procurement function and will align with both regional and global Procurement strategies and standards to drive success at Vertiv.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establish and drive supplier performance improvement programs to drive continuous improvement in on time delivery, cost, quality, and risk reduction for assigned commodities.
- Plan and lead regular supplier business and performance reviews in coordination with Category Managers and cross-functional teams.
- Lead local Sourcing activities for the Vertiv Monterrey plant. Anticipate and lead change. Envision what could be, challenge the status quo, and drive change.
- Work closely with Category Management and local Purchasing to localize critical parts to improve lead time, cost, quality, and agility.
- Expand site cost reduction pipelines and lead execution of cost reduction projects.
- Drive supplier compliance programs and hold supplier accountable for associated timely improvement actions
- Work cross functionally with planning, materials management, procurement, operations, master data management, engineering and quality groups to improve internal processes related to supplier management, supplier evaluation, developing suppliers OTD capability, managing transfer projects among suppliers and supporting insourcing/outsourcing flex programs.
- Build and grow supplier relationships and lead supply chain performance improvements
- Localize suppliers where possible to improve lead time, cost, and agility
- Partner with Purchasing and Operations teams on supply chain improvement initiatives
- Lead and support data analysis for Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) to support category and/or negotiation strategies.
- Lead moderately complex sourcing events.
- Help identify process improvements and lead initiatives for change.
- Builds relationships with business stakeholders that facilitate the realization of strategic and financial value.
- Support Vertiv’s Strategic Objectives by working to ensure Supplier Performance meets/exceeds needs of internal and/or external Customers.
QUALIFICATIONS
- BS/BA in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related area.
- 3+ years of experience in Sourcing or Procurement.
- ISM or APICS certification (preferred)
- Certification/trained in Lean, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement/Operational Excellence preferred (Green Belt, Black Belt, Lean Certified etc.)
- Strong analytical skills and advanced user of Microsoft Excel.
- A strong business acumen
- Must already possess appropriate documentation for travel in the United States
- Ability to work within a matrix management environment
- Strong English speaking & comprehension communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively.
