Purpose of the Job

The Strategic Sourcing Manager is responsible for leading the end-to-end sourcing and procurement of IT and digital banking products and services, including software, SaaS, hardware, and consulting. This role drives cost savings, optimizes supplier performance, and ensures compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and sustainability objectives. Partnering closely with internal stakeholders, the Strategic Sourcing Manager develops and executes sourcing strategies that support business goals, negotiates high-value contracts, identifies innovative technology solutions, and implements process improvements to enhance efficiency and deliver long-term value to the organization.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Develops and executes multi-year sourcing plans for IT and digital products and services, such as digital platforms, software-as-a-service (SaaS), hardware, and consulting. This involves managing the entire procurement life cycle, including requests for information (RFIs), proposals (RFPs), and quotes (RFQs). Develops and implements sourcing strategies to support business objectives. Identifies, evaluates, and qualifies potential suppliers on quality, cost, reliability, and sustainability. Builds and maintains strong relationships with suppliers, monitoring performance and ensuring compliance. Identifies and qualifies new suppliers according to Vendor Management Policy and the company's Negotiation Guide. Monitors and analyzes spend data to identify cost-saving opportunities. Reports sourcing cost-out every month according to KPIs. Organizes and sets up any tool or method to improve efficiency in the activity. Sends RFQs and follow-up to suppliers to get quotes on time. Partners with internal stakeholders (Project Management, Purchasing, Operations, Finance, etc.) to understand business needs. Aligns sourcing activities with the company’s sustainability, compliance, and risk management policies. Ensures procurement practices comply with company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards. Drives process improvements and automation in sourcing and procurement activities. Stays updated on market trends, pricing, and best practices in procurement. Proposes technology enhancements.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must have a solid understanding of the technology landscape, especially related to digital banking and financial technology (Fintech).

  • Must have strong business and financial fundamentals, including an understanding of budgets, cost modeling, and total cost of ownership (TCO).

  • Must be familiar with negotiating Software, Hardware and Hosted Technology agreements independently.

  • Must have knowledge of information technologies and services, including cloud services and SaaS licensing models.

  • Must have proven ability to lead programs/projects, influence and motivate cross-functional teams, and execute initiatives under tight deadlines and complex situations.

  • Must have strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills (oral and written).

  • Must have demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems, plan, document, market, and execute programs effectively.

  • Must have established project management skills, strong business acumen, and a customer-focused mindset.

  • Must be an independent thinker, able to adapt and shift paradigms while executing aggressively and handling challenges.

  • Must have the ability to work with minimal supervision in cross-cultural and geographically diverse environments.

  • Must have strong time management, prioritization, and compliance mindset with focus on transactional and process integrity.

  • Should possess a strong commitment to providing excellent service to Truliant’s members and employees.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to sit at a desk for long periods of time and use a computer

  • Must be able to use a telephone and wear a phone audio headset

  • Must be able to moderately lift or move up to 5 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 10 pounds

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to accommodate global time zones

Education and Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field required.

  • 6+ years of Digital Banking Technology Sourcing experience required.

  • Strong experience in software licensing in working with financial information as a means of decision making, pricing comparisons & benchmarking required.

  • Strong experience in sourcing and negotiating at the highest levels of a supplier required.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Information Technology, or related field
  • 6+ years of Digital Banking Technology Sourcing experience
  • Strong experience in software licensing, pricing comparisons, and benchmarking
  • Proven experience sourcing and negotiating with suppliers at executive/highest levels
  • Solid understanding of digital banking, fintech, and related technology landscape
  • Familiarity negotiating Software, Hardware, and Hosted Technology agreements independently
  • Knowledge of cloud services and SaaS licensing models
  • Proven ability to lead programs/projects and influence cross-functional teams
  • Established project management skills and strong business acumen
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, and written/oral communication skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in geographically diverse environments
