About the roleIn the role of Strategic Sourcing Manager, Technology, you will report to the Director, Strategic Sourcing.
We are considering applicants for Mexico City, Mexico.
This role owns a complex, loosely scoped technology sourcing portfolio across cloud infrastructure, content delivery networks, hosting and bandwidth, SaaS, developer tools, observability, customer support platforms, information technology hardware/software, security, and technology services. You will receive strategic objectives and translate them into category strategies, sourcing methods, evaluation criteria, governance routines, and supplier decisions that support Product & Engineering, Enterprise Technology, Information Technology, Security, Finance, Legal, and Accounts Payable. This is an individual-contributor role where impact comes through category ownership, independent judgment, and influential cross-functional execution rather than direct people management. Success in the first year will include a technology sourcing roadmap, stronger renewal discipline, improved contract and purchase-order coverage, and a regular operating cadence for supplier performance.
Core Areas of Responsibility- Define and execute the technology category strategy, including supplier segmentation, spend baselining, renewal planning, and multi-year sourcing roadmaps across engineering, product, enterprise technology, and information technology needs.
- Lead complex sourcing events, supplier selection, commercial negotiations, and contract/SOW/order-form reviews where technical, security, legal, finance, and business requirements must be evaluated together.
- Determine the methods, process, evaluation criteria, and stakeholder decision path for new or ambiguous technology sourcing assignments, adapting sourcing techniques to the needs of each category and supplier situation.
- Improve sourcing governance and controls by partnering with business stakeholders, Finance, Legal, Security, and Accounts Payable to reduce non-PO purchasing, standardize intake, and improve contract and approval discipline.
- Create practical supplier-management playbooks for renewals, business reviews, usage and service-level analysis, risk escalation, cost optimization, payment terms, and service continuity.
- Turn invoice, contract, usage, and supplier-performance data into recommendations that influence stakeholder decisions and support delivery of tactical business targets.
We get excited about candidates, like you, because...
- You have 5+ years of strategic sourcing, category management, procurement, or vendor-management experience, including 4+ years supporting technology categories.
- You have led RFx events, supplier selection, commercial negotiations, and contract reviews for software subscriptions, cloud or infrastructure services, technical services, outsourced support, or managed-service providers.
- You understand common technology commercial models, including SaaS subscription terms, cloud or consumption-based pricing, service-level agreements, support terms, renewal mechanics, data/security review touchpoints, and implementation or transition risk.
- You can analyze complex spend, invoice, renewal, usage, and supplier-performance data and use the findings to determine sourcing strategy, stakeholder recommendations, and practical next steps.
- You are an effective, influential communicator who can advise stakeholders outside your area of expertise and balance speed, risk, continuity, cost, and governance across Product, Engineering, IT, Security, Finance, Legal, and Accounts Payable.
- You have business-level English for global supplier negotiations; Spanish-language fluency is preferred for local collaboration in Mexico City.
- You have a bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
The Strategic Sourcing team is building category ownership across Crunchyroll's highest-priority supplier areas, including Technology, Marketing, and Operations/Localization. The team partners across the business to improve supplier strategy, contract discipline, purchase-order coverage, renewal readiness, supplier performance, and commercial value without slowing business execution. This role will serve as the primary sourcing partner for Technology stakeholders and will coordinate with other category leads where suppliers span multiple areas of the business.
