General Summary
The Strategic Sourcing Analytics & Insights team enhances the capabilities of the organization by enabling fact-driven decision making and leading continuous improvement initiatives in support of departmental and company goals & objectives.
The Analytics & Insights Manager is responsible for facilitating data collection, analyzing data, performing advanced analytics activities, and driving actions to enable the Strategic Sourcing team and broader CAO organization to achieve its vision of becoming a world class organization that is recognized as a trusted business partner by providing leadership, strategy and value creation.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Implement and report KPIs and metrics that measure the diverse aspects of our business and drive the right performance
- In partnership with Digital Technology and Engineering (DTE), automate data capabilities and reporting utilizing Vertex Data Platform (VDP)toolsets which include Power BI, Snowflake, etc. to ensure scalability and sustainability
- Perform advanced analytics activities to provide descriptive, diagnostic, predictive and perspective analytics. Examples include Spend Analytics, Cost-Scenario Analysis, Should-Cost Modeling, Total Cost of Ownership, Design-to-Value, Lease vs. Buy Analysis, Commodity/ Market Risk Analysis and Data Driven Negotiations
- Create insightful dashboards and reports from internal, external, market & supplier data to enable sourcing strategies including: Industry Trends, Category Trends, Current State Analysis, Regional and Global Synergies, Commodity, Labor and Energy Trends
- Partner with CAO teams to create, implementation and continuously improve of dashboards to provide insights into spend trends including T&E and buying channels, process analytics and market intelligence for the Sourcing team, Corporate Services, broader CAO organization and Stakeholders to drive insights and decision-making
- Perform benchmarking and industry outlook analyses to drive high performance
- Support implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of systems/tools
- Engage in cross-functional Strategic Sourcing initiatives and projects
- Act as a change agent to ensure successful implementation of new processes, procedures, and solutions.
Required Knowledge/Skills
- Strong analytical capabilities and proficiency in data visualization tools (MS Power BI), data management and data governance
- Ability to adapt to new projects rapidly and work effectively on multiple projects, ensuring alignment with department/corporate goals
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, strong knowledge of ERP system data, and related e-Sourcing tools
- Able to generate data, reports and insights to support Strategic Sourcing requirements
- Strong project management and organizational skills: ability to create detailed project plans -- including an understanding of dependencies as well as critical path elements for larger, more involved projects
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal); able to clearly articulate opinions in concise and persuasive manner. Comfortable speaking in front of groups and/or leading meetings that may include Senior-level Management personnel. Ability to create impactful PPT slides to effectively convey analytics, messages and insights.
- Understanding of Strategic Sourcing processes and industry best practices in areas such as procurement technology, data management, analytics and process management
- Ability to work in collaborative, team environment; ability to cultivate and maintain effective business partner relationships through earned respect and trust.
- Ability to manage several projects while ensuring deliverables are fully met on-time
Required Education Level
- Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline from a 4-year College or University
- Typically requires 3-5 years of specific Sourcing or Analytics experience, ideally several within a pharmaceutical / biotech industry, or the equivalent combination of education and experience

1. Hybrid: work remotely up to two days per week; or select
2. On-Site: work five days per week on-site with ad hoc flexibility.
