The DTNA Procurement and Supply Chain department is a fast paced, high-energy team responsible for strategic sourcing decisions and supporting the optimization of supplier performance based on cost, quality, and delivery. As a truly global organization, the Daimler Trucks Procurement and Supply Chain department offers exciting opportunities to work and grow in diverse, multi-regional and international teams using negotiation, entrepreneurial, technical, and analytical skills. Within Procurement and Supply Chain, DTNA has an Aftermarket and Specialty Vehicles Purchasing team, spanning throughout North America. This team drives strategic and creative solutions to support our customers service needs while looking out for DTNA's bottom line. This position requires a strategic thinker with a collaborative mindset, capable of analyzing market data and experience identifying strategic suppliers, considering lower volumes yet highly complex parts.We are looking for a self-starting individual who demonstrates resourcefulness and can confidently work independently. This person should have the ability to meet deadlines and still maintain a high level of detail. In addition, a proven ability to work well in an international team environment and experience identifying and solving the root cause of complex problems is highly desired.
Our buyers are encouraged to take the lead on managing their commodity assignments and managing their desk as they would run their own business. This position is responsible for the strategic procurement of DEF/Fuel Tanks, Starters/Alternators and Electronic components within the Aftermarket and Specialty Vehicles Purchasing team. One key strategic area of focus for this desk will be to create commodity strategies. This requires working closely with key suppliers and internal partners to ensure cross functional prioritization and alignment .

Position offers a starting salary range of $78,000 - $100,000 USD
Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience

What You Drive at DTNA
Develop and use commodity strategies as the basis for supplier selection, cost reduction, margin improvement, and overall supply chain management.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and align procurement strategies with organizational goals.
Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers while maintaining strong relationships with existing ones.
Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions to secure favorable agreements for the organization.
Negotiate the most effective long term programs for DTNA - including supplier commitments for production pricing that will differentiate DTNA in the marketplace.
Resolve commercial operational issues in a timely manner with suppliers including pricing and contractual terms.
Support and monitor results reporting through global business systems.
Contribute to the professionalization of the organization by implementing best practices in procurement, supplier relationship management, and cross functional collaboration.
Collaborate with team members to enhance overall procurement processes and efficiency.
Prepare presentations and present to senior leadership
Knowledge You Should Bring
BS/BSE level degree in business, supply and logistics, finance, economics, engineering, materials science or related technical discipline and 2-4 years of relevant experience OR 6 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
Previous work experience in commodity management, procurement, contracting, materials management, logistics, manufacturing, quality, account management.
Ability to take charge and lead tasks to completion.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Ability to evaluate and select suppliers using analytical tools.
Experience with contracts, cost structures as well as business and economic issues
Supplier negotiation experience.
Strong organizational and planning skills and the demonstrated ability to lead and manage projects.
Ability to prioritize and allocate resources to align with department and company goals.
Proven track record to deliver results and achieve goals.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to create strong working relationships.
Must be flexible to work extended hours to support the requirements of the business.
Proficient with all applications within Microsoft Office.
Fluent in English both written and verbal.
