The Strategic Sales Manager will have an active role in driving growth in the Southeast Region and participate in a commissioned pay structure. The incumbent will be responsible for the achievement of revenue goals through the implementation of both strategic and tactical sales activities. The SSM will develop, implement, and closely monitor sales strategy, field sales effectiveness, processes, and sales plans to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales objectives. The Strategic Sales Manager will also be the clinical expert in their market.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The following are the primary duties and responsibilities of this role. Other related duties may be assigned to meet the business need.

Sales Strategy Development

  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies targeting key surgeons, new markets, and growth opportunities.
  • Engage Field Selling Org on Sales Funnel adoption; lead generation, qualifying, presenting, training, closing.
  • Assist distributors and representatives with sales calls on all product lines within Foot & Ankle. Focusing on NPI launches and critical product categories.
  • Staff all trade shows and regional or local meetings as determined by the leadership team. This includes labs and other product training events.
  • Align with Regional Director and Field Sales Team on strategic and/or critical case coverage needs.
  • Work with the Sales Training team to assist in the training and education of new Sales Representatives. This would also include NPI launches for the entire Selling Org.

Key Account Management

  • Grow and maintain relationships with key surgeons and accounts
  • Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring surgeons needs are met to maintain long-term relationships. Case coverage depending on Regional needs.

Competitive and Market Analysis

  • Continuously monitor the competitive landscape and emerging trends within the industry.
  • Identify gaps in the market and provide recommendations for new product or service offerings to stay ahead of competitors.
  • Develop counter-strategies to maintain or enhance the company’s competitive position.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, sales, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • 5+ years of Foot and Ankle sales experience, preferably in a strategic sales, training, or sales leadership
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving growth in competitive markets.

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to build relationships with high-level stakeholders and close complex deals.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends to make informed decisions.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and other sales management software.

Travel Requirements/Work Environment and Physical Demands:

  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License and current automobile insurance
  • Must be able to travel up to 75% of the time
  • Typical work-related travel assignments range 1-5 days, and as such overnight, out-of-town stays are required
  • Position requires car and air travel on a routine basis
  • Works in the field with customers, Regional Sales Representatives, a minimum of 60% of the work week
