Position Summary
Platform.sh is seeking a Strategic Sales Lead to drive growth for our Upsun offering by engaging high-potential accounts, including large enterprises and fast-scaling SaaS startups (Series A-C) in need of scalable infrastructure solutions. This is a unique opportunity to shape a new market focus for Upsun, requiring both deep technical understanding and strategic sales expertise to independently manage the entire sales cycle - from building relationships to closing deals and developing a sustainable pipeline.
Reporting to the General Manager, Sales (North America & APAC), this quota-carrying individual contributor role offers autonomy and ownership over your territory.
What to expect
- Engage high-growth accounts: Develop and execute a targeted engagement plan to connect with high-growth SaaS startups and large enterprises, expanding their digital infrastructure.
- Present technical solutions with confidence: Use your understanding of cloud technologies to lead solution discussions, deliver product demos, and address technical inquiries.
- Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner with product support, sales engineering, and other internal resources to create a seamless and impactful client experience, ensuring alignment and smooth transitions throughout the sales process.
- Build and maintain a pipeline: Independently identify leads, nurture relationships, and forecast activities in Salesforce to ensure progress and accountability.
- Stay ahead of market trends: Stay informed on market trends, monitor developments in infrastructure solutions, and adapt strategies to position Upsun as a top choice for scaling companies.
What you bring
- Proven sales success in technology: 5+ years of experience in B2B technology sales, with a record of exceeding targets and securing new business.
- Technical knowledge: Expertise in cloud or infrastructure solutions, enabling you to address complex technical needs and engage confidently with technical buyers.
- Sales cycle ownership: Demonstrated ability to independently manage the full sales process, from lead generation to deal closure.
- Pipeline development skills: Resourcefulness in building and managing a robust sales pipeline, including entering new markets.
- Autonomy and collaboration: A self-driven approach combined with a commitment to team success.
- Building and strategizing: Experience developing and executing sales strategies, processes, and resources from the ground up, particularly in unstructured or new-market environments.
- Solution-based selling: Strong experience in solution and value-driven sales methodologies; familiarity with MEDDIC/MEDDPICC is a plus.
