Make a real difference in your community

Are you passionate about helping others live safer, healthier, more independent lives? Join our team at Waythrough and support people facing challenges around mental health, substance use, housing or domestic abuse. This is more than just a job – it’s a chance to build meaningful relationships and create lasting change.

About the Role

As our Strategic Project Manager, you'll play a key role in delivering high-profile strategic and transformational projects that support Waythrough's long-term vision and organisational priorities. Working closely with senior leaders, including the Executive Team and CEO, you'll turn strategic ambitions into practical, deliverable projects that make a real difference.

This is a hands-on role where you'll not only oversee project planning, governance and reporting but also actively contribute to implementation, helping to drive organisational change, service development, digital transformation and business improvement initiatives. While home-based, you'll have opportunities to travel nationally to collaborate with colleagues, partners and stakeholders.

Key Duties
  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of strategic and transformational projects from initiation through to completion.
  • Translate organisational priorities into structured project plans, milestones and measurable outcomes.
  • Develop business cases, project documentation, risk registers and progress reports.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior leaders, internal teams and external partners.
  • Monitor project progress, budgets, risks and dependencies, ensuring successful delivery.
  • Facilitate project meetings, workshops, events and stakeholder engagement sessions.
  • Take a hands-on approach by supporting implementation activities such as process design, operational improvements, data analysis and change delivery.
  • Support the wider organisational project portfolio and contribute to continuous improvement of project management approaches and methodologies.
  • Ensure projects support organisational change, innovation and service development across Waythrough.
About You

You'll be an organised and proactive project professional with experience managing complex projects from planning through to successful delivery. Comfortable working with senior stakeholders, you'll be able to take broad strategic direction and independently develop clear project plans that deliver measurable results.

You'll have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, alongside strong planning, risk management and organisational abilities. You'll enjoy working collaboratively while also being confident taking ownership of your own workload and delivering practical project outcomes.

Ideally, you'll also bring:

  • Experience managing complex projects using recognised project management methodologies.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including working with senior leaders and executive teams.
  • Excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • The ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience within the charity, health, social care or public sector (desirable).
  • A recognised project management qualification such as PRINCE2, AgilePM or MSP (desirable).
  • Willingness to travel nationally as required.
