We are currently recruiting a Strategic Programme Planning Manager roles to assist us with large-scale projects and developments.
As a Strategic Programme Planning Manager within Watercare’s Strategy and Planning team, you will lead the feasibility phases of one or more large-scale, multi-year infrastructure programmes critical to Auckland’s water and wastewater future. These programmes, each valued in the hundreds of millions to billions of dollars, are central to Watercare’s Asset Management Plan (AMP) and long-term servicing strategies.
You will be responsible for driving strategic alignment across complex project portfolios, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of programme milestones, and enabling Watercare to meet its statutory obligations and community commitments.
This role demands a high level of programme maturity, political acumen, and the ability to influence at executive and board levels. You will proactively manage risks, foster innovation, and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders including Iwi, local boards, and community groups. This position will ensure that Watercare’s infrastructure programmes are delivered with transparency, accountability, and excellence

You are a highly experienced programme or project manager who has worked on programmes valued at over $100million, and demonstrated success in complex multi-stakeholder environments.
You background and experience will include:
Bachelor degree in engineering, project management, or a related field.
You have worked in large complex infrastructure programme environments, have political acumen and have worked closely with c-suite and board members.
Experience driving critical programmes with tight time constraints, with a proven record of on-time delivery and action orientation.
Experience in water/wastewater infrastructure, utilities, or related infrastructure sectors is an advantage.
