Description

About Delta Electronics

Headquartered at our vertically integrated facility in Beverly, Massachusetts, Delta Electronics Mfg. Corp. is a premier manufacturer of custom and standard high-frequency RF, microwave, and millimeter-wave interconnect solutions. For over 60 years, Delta has served top-tier prime contractors and OEMs across the aerospace, defense, space, and semiconductor industries.

Positioned for year-over-year growth in bookings and shipments, Delta is expanding its enterprise management structure to ensure execution discipline matches our technical capabilities.

Position Summary

The Strategic Program Manager serves as the central driver of customer execution across Delta Electronics. Operating as an enterprise integrator, this role bridges customer requirements directly into shop floor and engineering execution ensuring strategic customer commitments are translated into coordinated, on-time action.

Unlike traditional project management roles that oversee isolated tasks within a single department, the Strategic Program Manager manages cross-functional velocity and delivery execution. Reporting directly to the CTO, this position establishes high-touch oversight on critical path items including technical drawing releases, tooling readiness, material procurement, RF qualification testing, and production scheduling to safeguard portfolio health and drive high-growth customer relationships.

Portfolio & Program Scope

The Strategic Program Manager will manage Delta’s highest value and most complex customer portfolios under the following assignment parameters:

  • Revenue Scope: Dedicated ownership of accounts/programs exceeding $500,000 in annual bookings (or path to $500k within 12–24 months), or customer portfolios totaling >$1.0M in annual revenue.
  • Complexity Drivers: Direct oversight of programs involving New Product Introductions (NPI), tight-tolerance RF performance requirements (low VSWR, insertion loss, phase matching), AS9102 First Article Inspections (FAI), and military/aerospace qualification testing.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Leadership & Advocacy

  • Serve as the primary operational point of contact post-contract award for key strategic accounts.
  • Lead customer program reviews, progress updates, forecast alignment, and schedule reviews.
  • Act as the internal voice of the customer across Delta to resolve friction, align priorities, and maintain clear schedule visibility.

Enterprise Cross-Functional Execution

  • Lead internal program review cadences, tracking action items to completion across Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, Production Control, Purchasing, Quality, Test Engineering, and Sales.
  • Conduct active, on-the-floor coordination within our Beverly manufacturing operations to resolve daily bottlenecks in drawing releases, tooling development, and production scheduling.
  • Eliminate administrative and operational barriers to execution without adding departmental overhead.

New Product Introduction (NPI) & Production Readiness

  • Drive the transition of complex custom interconnect designs from quotation and engineering development into scalable shop-floor production.
  • Coordinate critical pre-production readiness milestones: drawing releases, tool buildouts, inspection planning, RF test fixture setup, and raw material availability.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing and Operations to ensure long-lead components and production capacity align prior to full manufacturing ramp.

Program Risk Management & Recovery

  • Identify early-stage risks across schedules, material lead times, supplier delays, engineering changes, and RF qualification challenges.
  • Formulate and execute immediate recovery plans before schedule variances impact customer delivery commitments.

Requirements

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Supply Chain Management. PMP certification is a strong plus.
  • Experience:
    • 5+ years of progressive program or project management experience within a precision manufacturing environment (Aerospace, Defense, Space, or Semiconductor sectors strongly preferred).
    • Proven track record of managing high-value customer portfolios ($1M+) through matrix leadership.
  • Technical Acumen:
    • Understanding of precision machining, electroplating, assembly, and testing processes.
    • Familiarity with RF/microwave interconnects, cable assemblies, military qualification standards (MIL-PRF-39012, MIL-PRF-55339), AS9100 quality environments, and AS9102 FAIs.
  • Work Style & Communication:
    • Must thrive in an on-site, active manufacturing environment with daily shop-floor interaction.
    • Strong matrix management capabilities—able to drive cross-functional accountability across departments without direct supervisory power.
    • Exceptional written and verbal executive communication skills.
