Position Summary

The Strategy Program Management Team is responsible for the tracking and execution of opportunities to drive growth and/or strategic initiatives for SJI. The team is the primary driver in harmonization efforts across the enterprise for SJI strategy execution.
As a Senior Internal Business Strategy Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in developing and executing business strategies across the organization. You will collaborate with senior leadership, functional teams, and key stakeholders to drive transformative business initiatives, improve operational efficiency, and identify growth opportunities. This position requires a combination of strategic analysis, business modeling, and change management skills to enable high-performance.

Essential Functions:

  • Make data-driven recommendations to optimize business performance and strategy execution.
  • Lead the development of business strategies that align with organizational goals and priorities.
  • Advise business partners on business decisions, market trends, competitive analysis, and performance improvement.
  • Support the creation of strategic roadmaps for new business ventures, operational changes, or expansion initiatives.
  • Work closely with various departments (e.g., marketing, finance, operations, HR) to ensure alignment between business strategies and departmental goals.
  • Support cross-functional teams to ensure strategic initiatives are effectively executed – overseeing execution in coordination with project teams and tracking milestones.
  • Drive organizational change by leading and supporting the implementation of strategic changes.
  • Provide training and support to teams as needed to facilitate strategic changes.

Required Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information to senior executives clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to influence and build relationships with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in business modeling, financial analysis, and project management tools (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, project management software).

Preferred Skills:

  • Project Management certifications preferred

Qualifications

Required Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Management, Finance, Economics, or a related field with 8 years of relevant experience, or;
  • Master’s degree with 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in strategic consulting, business analysis, change management or related roles.

    Compensation Range:

    $97,500 - 156,000

    We are committed to pay transparency and ensuring equitability compensation for all employees. The pay range for this position reflects the base salary only and does not include benefits, bonuses, or other forms of compensation that might be part of the total compensation package. The specific salary offered will be based on a candidate’s qualifications, education, and experience.
