Job title: Strategic Procurement Business Partner

Location: West Whiteland, Devon, PA, Smithfield (optional)

At Johnson Matthey, your work will matter. As a Strategic Procurement Business Partner, you’ll join a world leader in platinum group metals with over 200 years of history. Using advanced metals chemistry, you’ll help tackle the world’s biggest challenges - cutting emissions, powering modern life and supporting lifesaving technologies - by applying, refining and recycling metals that matter for a healthier, more sustainable, circular future.

As a Strategic Procurement Business Partner, you will help drive our goals by:

  • Partner with CleanAir and CAS site and regional leaders as the primary point of contact for end-to-end procurement support across the assigned geography.

  • Shape and prioritize local demand to improve spend efficiency, route requests to the right JM Procurement or GBS delivery teams, and ensure clear ownership across stakeholders.

  • Build and deliver local savings plans and strategic sourcing initiatives aligned to global category strategies and JM procurement policies.

  • Represent local requirements to global category teams, helping translate global strategies into locally effective solutions and steering spend to approved suppliers.

  • Lead supplier performance management for local suppliers, including issue resolution and escalation management in partnership with sites, GBS and global teams.

  • Champion process excellence by driving compliant use of Coupa and other procurement tools, and by implementing continuous improvement initiatives at site level.

Key skills that will help you succeed in this role:

  • Proven experience in strategic procurement, sourcing and supplier management, with strong stakeholder engagement and customer focus.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence budget holders, lead cross-functional collaboration, and deliver measurable savings and wider business value.

  • Experience operating within a global organization and procurement operating model, balancing global standards with local business needs.

  • Strong project management, prioritization and communication skills, with confidence presenting to leadership teams.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook); familiarity with P2P/ERP systems and workflow tools (e.g.,SAP, Coupa) is a must.

  • Willingness to travel regionally and maintain regular on-site presence to support sites and suppliers as required.

Even if you only match some of the skills, we’d love to hear from you to discuss further!

What we offer:

We make sure salaries are fair, competitive and aligned to individual roles, experience and responsibilities. We also support hybrid and flexible working and offer comprehensive employee benefits, including health, life, disability and retirement plans that support our employees’ financial and physical wellbeing, such as:
