  • Part-time (0.6 FTE | 21 hours per week), fixed-term position for 12 months (Any extension would be subject to operational requirements, funding and compliance with the Fair Work Act).
  • Based at Western’s Kingswood (Penrith) campus, with flexible working arrangements
  • Salary: HEW Level 8 $71,381 – $79,241 per annum, plus 17% Super and Leave Loading (Pro-rata based on 0.6 FTE)

Lead strategy and delivery for a new Centre advancing teaching innovation and digital capability.

The Opportunity
The Strategic Lead will support the establishment and strategic direction of the Centre for Innovation in Teaching, contributing to its growth as a key capability across the University. The role partners with academic and professional stakeholders to embed innovative approaches to teaching, learning design, and digital practice.

The Strategic Lead will lead and coordinate the design and delivery of initiatives that strengthen teaching capability, learning experiences, and curriculum practice. This includes developing multi-year strategies, preparing strategic documentation, and aligning priorities with operational delivery and governance requirements.

Working collaboratively, the Strategic Lead will contribute to digital and spatial planning for innovation environments, support pilot projects and evaluation activities, and build strong partnerships internally and externally. The role also contributes to governance, reporting, and continuous improvement processes to ensure the Centre’s initiatives achieve meaningful outcomes.

  • Teaching innovation initiatives are designed, implemented, and evaluated effectively.
  • Strong stakeholder relationships support collaborative delivery and partnerships.

  • Continuous improvement approaches enhance capability and Centre impact.

About You
You will bring a combination of strategic capability, stakeholder engagement expertise, and experience delivering initiatives within complex organisational environments.

  • Postgraduate qualifications or equivalent experience in strategic planning, program design, or evaluation.
  • Strong understanding of contemporary teaching and learning practices across education contexts.
  • Demonstrated capability in stakeholder engagement and partnership management.
  • High-level communication skills, including development of strategic documentation and facilitation of workshops.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills, with high digital literacy.
