Numeral is transforming how taxes get done. Digital businesses are currently bogged down by a painful web of regulations across 47 states and 50+ countries. We're eliminating this burden so teams can focus on their core mission.
We're the largest and fastest growing AI-native tax solution. Started in 2023, Numeral has raised over $57M from Benchmark, Mayfield, Y-Combinator, and many others. We now serve over 2,500 paying customers and have more than tripled our revenue every year in our history.
We're primarily hiring in our SF and NY offices, but do hire remotely in some cases.
We're looking for a Strategic Finance Manager to bring serious analytical horsepower to Numeral's finance team during the most important stretch of our growth. We have more than tripled revenue every year of our existence and are raising the capital to grow faster, which means more decisions, more models, and more questions that need a sharp, fast, and reliable answer.
This role is built for someone who has spent time in investment banking and private equity, carries the modeling and analytical rigor that comes with both, and now wants to be inside a hyperscaling company helping to build it rather than evaluating it from the outside. You will work directly with the VP of Finance and the Head of Strategic Finance to build the models that drive budgeting, forecasting, hiring, GTM, and capital decisions, and you will partner cross-functionally to turn numbers into the insight that helps us scale. You will see the entire business, and the better you are, the more you will own.
What you'll doBuild, maintain, and improve the financial models that support budgeting, forecasting, and the long-range plan.
Own recurring reporting and analysis: monthly and quarterly variance, KPI tracking, and the dashboards leadership uses to run the business.
Support the headcount and hiring plan, keeping the capacity model current as the company grows.
Run GTM and funnel analytics: pipeline-to-bookings conversion, marketing ROI, CAC, payback, retention, and the unit economics behind them.
Build the analyses that inform capital and resource decisions, and help pressure-test the assumptions behind them.
Help prepare board and investor materials, turning the underlying data into a clear and accurate story.
Support the rollout of our FP&A tooling and the integrity of the data running through it, partnering closely with the data team.
Take on analysis across the business as questions come up, including work that sits outside a strict strategic finance lane.
A foundation in investment banking and private equity, ideally a couple of years in each, with the modeling and analytical rigor that comes from both.
Strong financial modeling in Excel. Your models are driver-based and clean, built to answer a specific question, and you work quickly and accurately.
A reliable, low-ego operator who takes ownership of deliverables and gets them done without needing to be managed closely.
Comfort with ambiguity and a high-paced environment, and the judgment to know which questions matter most.
Familiarity with SaaS metrics and unit economics, including retention, CAC, payback, and LTV/CAC.
Clear written and verbal communication. You can present an analysis simply and make the takeaway obvious.
Experience at a SaaS, fintech, payments, or tax company.
Fluency with SQL and BI tools (Looker, Hex, Sigma, or similar).
Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, or board reporting in an operating role.
Hands-on experience with FP&A or ERP tooling (NetSuite, Pigment, Anaplan, or similar).
Competitive salary and equity - you'll share directly in the company's success
Full medical, dental, and vision coverage
Wellness perks like Headspace and the Peloton One App
401(k) to help you build long-term financial security
Lunch and snacks when you're in the office
Regular team offsites and company events as we grow
A culture built on ownership - your work matters and people will see it!
