About the roleWe're hiring a Strategic Finance Lead to own financial planning, treasury, and the commercial side of our vendor and banking relationships, reporting directly to the founders.
This is a high-autonomy role for someone who wants to operate as the finance brain of the company, not manage a large team or run accounting operations. You'll work alongside our controller (who owns accounting and close), product, and growth to drive the company to a 1x burn multiple and durable profitability. We run finance as an AI-first function — agents and automations are the default answer before headcount — and you should want to work that way too.
What you'll ownFinancial planning and analysis: The operating model, 18-month budget, monthly forecasting, and reporting to founders and the board.
Treasury and cash management: Cash positioning across multiple bank accounts, credit facility management and covenant compliance, and liquidity planning, including a 13-week rolling cash flow forecast.
Vendor and partner negotiations: Lead commercial negotiations for key vendor contracts and banking/processing partnerships, from cost modeling through executed terms.
Pricing strategy: Product-level unit economics, interchange dynamics, and margin management across our card and payments products.
Over time, this role can extend into fundraising support (materials, data room, investor analysis) and broader strategic projects with the founders.
What you'll bring5–8 years in finance, ideally starting in investment banking, private equity, or management consulting, followed by strategic finance or FP&A at a startup.
Strong financial modeling skills — you build clean, driver-based models and can defend every number in them.
Commercial instincts: experience negotiating (or supporting negotiation of) vendor, partner, or banking agreements is a strong plus.
Comfort with ambiguity and ownership — you'd rather run a workstream end to end than execute someone else's plan.
AI-fluent: you already use tools like Claude every day and have a point of view on which finance workflows should be automated next.
Fintech experience, particularly with card programs, sponsor banks, or payments economics, is a plus but not required.
Spanish is a plus.
An interest in serving an underserved community :)
Accounting, close, and controllership are owned by our controller. This role has no direct reports today.
