Strategic Finance Director
We are looking for a Strategic Finance Director, based anywhere in the United States, reporting to the Vice President, Corporate Finance. In this role, you will support the Company’s IPO preparation efforts, help shape its investor relations strategy, and drive strategic finance initiatives with a meaningful FP&A component and M&A responsibilities that lean toward post-acquisition integration. This role will interact regularly with senior executives and their staff across all departments, as well as the Board of Directors. You are the ideal candidate if you bring strong financial analysis, executive communication, and strategic planning capabilities, along with experience supporting IPO readiness, investor materials, long-range planning, and acquisition integration in a B2B software or SaaS environment.
Be a Contributor — What You’ll Do
- Lead preparation of private investor relations materials, including mock public earnings materials and other IPO-readiness content
- Partner with leaders across Finance, Product, GTM, Strategy, Accounting, and Legal to shape the Company’s investment story and support public-company readiness requirements
- Build and enhance long-range planning, strategic planning, and other FP&A analyses to support executive decision-making and evolving business priorities
- Support relationships with external partners, investors, and financial institutions during IPO preparation or potential financing events
- Lead and support strategic growth transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, or partnerships, with an emphasis on post-deal integration planning and execution across systems, processes, and operating models
- Conduct financial modeling, diligence, and business case development for strategic investments and transactions; front-end M&A evaluation experience is valued, but integration leadership is the higher-priority need
- Prepare reports, analyses, and presentation materials for senior leadership, shareholders, and the Board of Directors
- Leverage AI tools to streamline strategic finance workflows, accelerate analysis, and improve the quality of executive, Board, and investor presentations
- Monitor industry and competitor developments, maintain benchmarks, and translate insights into recommendations that sharpen the Company’s investment narrative and strategic priorities
- Participate in or lead cross-functional strategic programs requiring finance leadership, structured problem-solving, and strong executive presence
Be Prepared — What You Bring
- 15+ years of related and relevant experience
- Strong background in IPO readiness, investor relations materials, and public-company preparation
- Deep FP&A capability, including long-range planning, strategic planning, financial modeling, and ad hoc analysis
- M&A experience with a stronger preference for post-acquisition integration and value creation than purely front-end transaction modeling, while front-end M&A experience remains a plus
- Experience in a B2B tech/software/SaaS environment, with a strong understanding of enterprise software business models, metrics, and KPIs; public-company experience is highly desirable
- Excellent executive presentation and communication skills, with the ability to distill complex analyses into clear, decision-ready materials
- Strong interpersonal skills, business acumen, and the ability to work across functions with credibility and influence
- High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, including financial modeling with large datasets from multiple sources
- Experience leveraging AI tools to improve workflows, analysis, and presentation development
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a related field
