We’re looking for an experienced and highly motivated Strategic Finance Associate Manager to join our team. This is an exciting time to be part of our organization as we navigate a period of significant growth and change. You’ll work closely with teams across the business—specifically our Marketing division—to influence decision-making and shape the future direction of the business.
The Role
At Checkatrade, we move at pace, so you’ll need to thrive in a fast-paced environment. You will be a pro at analyzing data to offer timely commercial and strategic insights which both enable and challenge conventional thinking. This role is central to appraising our initiatives and prioritizing those which best deliver our short and long-term goals.
Here’s what you’ll actually spend your time on:
Marketing Partnership: Partner with the Marketing teams to drive initiatives that redefine Checkatrade’s product vision, customer and trade journey.
Capital Allocation: Lead the charge in crafting and implementing smart capital allocation strategies across performance and brand marketing spend to maximize ROI.
Investment Appraisal: Conduct detailed financial analyses—including month end work, ROI assessments, cost-benefit breakdowns, and scenario planning—to appraise marketing investments.
Strategic Planning: Play a key role in shaping our monthly, quarterly and annual marketing budgets and our ambitious 5-Year Plan.
Performance Monitoring: Keep a sharp eye on marketing performance and capital performance across marketing channels, providing insights and actionable recommendations.
Value Advisory: Act as a committed advisor and challenger to marketing stakeholders to ensure every decision maximizes value.
Financial Stewardship: Safeguard against financial risks, ensuring compliance and sound practices in marketing procurement and spend.
Who You Are
It’s not about ticking every box; it’s about turning up curious and ready to crack on. You’ll do well here if you bring:
Background: Experience in a high-growth commercial finance role. Prior experience partnering with marketing teams to manage performance and brand budgets is highly desirable.
Data Mastery: You are a data wizard used to working with large data sets to drive commercial outcomes.
Financial Modeling: A strong financial modeling background—you don’t just build models, you master them.
Stakeholder Management: The ability to work with and influence multiple stakeholders across the business.
Technical Skills: Solid experience with Excel and Word; advanced PowerPoint experience is a significant bonus.
