Position Summary:
Arch Insurance Company is a leading provider of specialty insurance products and services. We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Strategic Data Analyst to join our Travel, Accident and Health business unit. In this critical role, you will be responsible for driving data and analytics initiatives, overseeing the design and implementation of scalable and efficient data solutions within a Microsoft SQL Server environment, and leveraging insights to support business strategies and decision-making. Joining Arch Insurance Company as a Data and Analytics Lead within a Microsoft SQL Server environment in the Accident and Health Insurance business unit offers an exciting opportunity to drive data-driven decision-making, leverage insights, and contribute to the organization's strategic goals using Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, and Power BI.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Ensure the quality of all data during its entire lifecycle.
Facilitate month-end financial reporting.
Facilitate integration with corporate Data Store.
Support the business unit data warehouse and reporting including ETL processes, report design, development and testing.
Create ad hoc reports and queries as needed.
Assist with software development and data migration initiatives.
Collaborate with business stakeholders, data scientists, analysts, and other technology teams to understand business requirements and translate them into effective data and analytics solutions.
Assist Underwriting, Actuary, Sales, Claims, Customer Service and Marketing stakeholders in reporting and analytics initiatives
Serve as a subject matter expert on business unit data when integrating with corporate data systems
Design and optimize data integration, ingestion, and transformation processes using Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in data and analytics, specifically within the Microsoft SQL Server ecosystem, and proactively recommend innovative solutions to drive business value.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Strong expertise in data and analytics strategies, including data architecture, data modeling, and data integration within the Microsoft SQL Server environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server, including database design, SQL development, and performance optimization.
Extensive experience with Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) for data integration and transformation.
Familiarity with data visualization and reporting tools, particularly Power BI, within the Microsoft SQL Server environment.
Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, and data security principles and best practices within the Microsoft SQL Server environment.
Experience with cloud platforms and services (e.g., Azure, AWS) and their integration with Microsoft SQL Server is a plus.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with both technical and business stakeholders.
Knowledge of Power BI for interactive report development.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.

For individuals assigned or hired to work in the location(s) indicated below, the base salary range is provided. Range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.
For Hunt Valley: $111,100 - $149,970 base + target bonus.
Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above pay range may be modified in the future.
