About Capco
Capco is a global business and technology consultancy dedicated to the financial services industry. We combine deep industry expertise with consulting and technology capabilities to help leading financial institutions solve complex strategic and transformation challenges.
Across APAC and globally, we work with banks and financial institutions on initiatives spanning digital strategy, business transformation, operating model design, technology transformation and large-scale change.
As we continue to grow our Malaysia practice, we are looking for consultants who can combine strategic thinking, banking domain expertise and strong consulting capabilities to help our clients define and deliver the future of banking.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Management Consultant with Digital Banking expertise to support strategic transformation initiatives across our banking clients.
You will work with senior client stakeholders to assess existing digital banking capabilities, identify strategic opportunities and gaps, evaluate future-state options, and translate these into clear recommendations and actionable transformation roadmaps.
Depending on the engagement, this may include reviewing a bank's digital portfolio, customer propositions, channels, capabilities, operating model, technology landscape and market footprint, and defining how these should evolve to support future business priorities.
This is a strategy and advisory-focused role rather than a traditional project delivery position. You should be comfortable working with ambiguous problems, structuring complex questions, conducting analysis, challenging existing thinking and communicating clear recommendations to senior executives.
What You'll Do
Digital Banking Strategy
- Support the development and refinement of digital banking strategies aligned to business priorities, customer needs and market developments.
- Assess existing digital propositions, channels, products, capabilities and initiatives.
- Identify strategic gaps, overlaps, opportunities and areas requiring further investment or rationalization.
- Evaluate how digital capabilities should evolve to support future business and customer needs.
- Assess strategic options and articulate the associated benefits, trade-offs, risks and implications.
Current-State & Capability Assessment
- Conduct structured assessments of the bank's current digital landscape and capabilities.
- Assess capabilities across areas such as customer journeys, digital channels, products, processes, data, technology and operating models.
- Develop current-state and future-state capability views.
- Identify gaps between existing capabilities and the desired strategic direction.
- Conduct market, competitor and industry analysis where relevant to inform recommendations.
Target State & Roadmap Development
- Define future-state digital banking capabilities, propositions and operating direction.
- Translate strategic recommendations into practical and prioritized transformation roadmaps.
- Define initiatives, sequencing, dependencies and key implementation considerations.
- Support development of business cases and investment priorities.
- Ensure recommendations consider both business ambition and technology feasibility.
Structured Problem Solving & Analysis
- Structure complex and ambiguous business questions into clear hypotheses, analytical frameworks and workstreams.
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis to test hypotheses and identify insights.
- Synthesize information from multiple sources into clear findings and implications.
- Develop strategic options and evaluate them against agreed criteria.
- Translate analysis into practical recommendations rather than simply presenting findings.
Senior Stakeholder Engagement
- Conduct interviews, workshops and working sessions with senior stakeholders across business, digital, product, technology and operations.
- Facilitate discussions to understand strategic priorities, challenges and constraints.
- Build alignment around future-state recommendations and transformation priorities.
- Challenge stakeholder thinking constructively and bring an independent consulting perspective.
- Operate confidently with senior executives across complex stakeholder environments.
Executive Storytelling & Consulting Delivery
- Develop high-quality executive presentations, strategy papers and recommendation decks.
- Build clear storylines that connect analysis, insights, implications and recommendations.
- Communicate complex concepts simply and effectively to senior audiences.
- Produce consulting-quality deliverables with strong attention to structure, logic and detail.
- Contribute to Capco propositions, thought leadership and business development activities.
What We're Looking For
- Experience within management consulting, strategy consulting, business consulting or strategic advisory, ideally within financial services.
- Demonstrated experience working on digital banking strategy, banking transformation or related strategic initiatives.
- Strong understanding of the banking landscape and how digital capabilities support business and customer outcomes.
- Experience conducting current-state assessments, capability assessments, strategic reviews, target-state definition and/or roadmap development.
- Strong structured problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
- Ability to take an ambiguous problem and develop a structured approach to answering it.
- Experience evaluating strategic options and developing practical recommendations.
- Excellent executive storylining, presentation and slide-writing capabilities.
- Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills, including experience engaging senior executives.
- Ability to understand and connect business strategy, customer needs, operating models and technology capabilities.

- Exposure to Asian banking markets and digital banking ecosystems.
