The Society for Family Health (SFH) is undergoing a bold transformation—repositioning itself as a systems-driven, impact-focused leader in Nigeria’s health and development ecosystem.

 

We are seeking a Strategic Communications Specialist to lead this shift externally, translating strategy into compelling narratives, high-impact content, and powerful communication assets that shape perception, influence stakeholders, and elevate visibility.

 

This is not a traditional communications role. This is about strategy → story → influence.


What You Will Deliver


1. Strategic Narrative & Messaging

  • Positioning and narrative document
  • Messaging framework (messaging house)

2. Flagship Content & Communication Assets

  • Corporate brochure (flagship deliverable)
  • Donor & partner engagement deck
  • Programme factsheets and briefs
  • Organisational profile / one-pager

3. Thought Leadership & Digital Presence

  • Social media strategy (LinkedIn-led)
  • Content calendar + high-quality sample content
  • 3–5 thought leadership articles (op-eds, blogs, LinkedIn)

4. Website Content Refresh

  • Content audit and restructuring recommendations
  • Rewritten core pages (About, What We Do, Impact)

5. Visibility & Influence

  • 6–12 month visibility and engagement plan
  • Strategic positioning across key platforms and audiences

6. Internal Enablement

  • Communications toolkit (templates, guidelines)
  • Internal alignment workshop


Requirements

Who We’re Looking For: 


A strategic thinker and exceptional content developer who can connect: Strategy → Narrative → Influence


Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Postgraduate degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field is an added advantage.

Experience

  • Minimum of 7–10 years of relevant experience in strategic communications, brand positioning, or content strategy
  • Strong portfolio of high-level content and communication assets
  • Demonstrated experience in global health, development, or public sector environments.
  • Proven track record of developing high-level communication materials and influencing stakeholders.
  • Experience working with donors, government institutions, and international organisations.
  • Ability to translate complex ideas into clear, compelling, and persuasive content
  • Exceptional writing and storytelling ability
