The Role:
This role of Strategic Buyer needs to lead the projects within certain spend amount, and to help with the achievement of strategic purchasing objectives and support the growth of the business by developing long term strategy in the procurement function, and also needs to interface with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and work with external suppliers for doing the supply chain management.
In this role you will:

Manage Indirect PO Approvals: Manage Indirect PO approval with PO value from US$75,000 and above.

Vendor Management: Manage New Vendor Approval and performing due diligence on supplier’s financial health assessment check if necessary , and ensuring favorable terms being negotiated prior to approval .

Sourcing and Bidding: Manage Indirect Procurement sourcing with project value within US$75,000 to US$150,000. (Project value subject to adjust based upon the overall project volume ) .Execute sourcing initiatives, including RFQ/RFP processes, direct negotiations, and obtaining competitive bids for Capex and Opex projects. Conduct comprehensive bid evaluations, considering specifications, pricing, schedules, financials, and references.

Strategic Sourcing Support: Obtain competitive bids from multiple suppliers if necessary based on predetermined specifications for sourcing event spot buy inquiries. Assist the Indirect Category and Sourcing Managers to identify opportunities to aggregate similar business requirement at a global or regional level to streamline the supplier base .

Contract Collaboration: Collaborate with Contract Managers for contract reviews and facilitate the contracting process ensuring terms and conditions are favorable, ensuring alignment with procurement standards and policies. Consult with the Category Manager & Contract Manager to discuss any unique requirements that should be included in the agreement , ensuring the greatest protection to the company.

Stakeholder Training & Engagement: Provide training and guidance to stakeholders on procurement processes, best practices, and policy compliance at global and regional levels. Collaborate with the stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and effectively manage challenging projects. Maintain ongoing dialogue with stakeholders, engaging them early in the process to gain a deeper understanding of strategic issues, cost-saving goals, and value-added opportunities, ensuring projects stay on track.

Supplier Relationship Management : Actively engage with key suppliers to gain better insights into their capabilities and sustainability roadmaps. Work closely with key suppliers on innovation, process improvements , and joint sustainability initiatives.

Financial Tracking: Regularly update and track savings/cost avoidance metrics for Capex/Opex projects and resolve vendor invoice discrepancies.

Support Category Taxonomy Cleanup : Regularly review and clean up category taxonomy ensuring the data is organized and categorized correctly. This improves data accuracy and support better analysis and decision making .

Indirect Spends Analysis : Regularly deep dive into indirect spends . Conduct detailed analyses of indirect spends to identify trends , inefficiencies , and areas for cost optimization.

Critical shipment follow up : Maintain the consistent follow-up on supplier critical deliverable schedule to support operational needs .

Ariba punch-out or hosted catalogue implementation : Conduct spend analysis and identify opportunities of Ariba punch-out / hosted catalogue implementation for improving PO process efficiency .
Traits we believe make a strong candidate:

5+ years of experience in the procurement and sourcing for indirect relevant purchases, equipment, or services.

Experience in sourcing, evaluating, engaging, and negotiating with the suppliers regionally and globally.

Experience in commercial terms & conditions negotiation, contract negotiation, and supplier management.

Able to develop and maintain the relationship with cross-functional teams within the company.

Have in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, such as advanced Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Strong business system application such as SAP and Ariba. Familiar with Agile Point, Share Point and Power BI will be a plus.

Language skills: English (Good in Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing) is required.
