JOB SUMMARY
The Strategic Buyer will be responsible for sourcing production equipment, spare parts, and related services for multiple Jabil sites across the EMEA region. This includes identifying and qualifying suppliers, managing tenders, conducting negotiations, and analyzing quotations to ensure cost-effective and timely procurement.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Develop and execute sourcing strategies for equipment, spare parts, and related services.
· Manage RFQs, tenders, eAuctions and competitive bidding processes.
· Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to achieve optimal value.
· Analyze supplier quotations and prepare cost comparisons.
· Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align sourcing decisions with business needs.
· Ensure compliance with company policies and regional regulations.
· Optimize overall cost of materials.
· Monitor and continuously improve supplier’s delivery and quality performance. Address and resolve recurring or critical issues by utilizing corrective action tools and additional resources.
· Monitor, track, and provide feedback on suppliers’ performance on delivery, quality, and service.
· Make sourcing decisions based on overall cost and benefit including price, duty, freight, flexibility, service, performance, quality, and terms & conditions.
· Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor.
· Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.
· Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
· Strong negotiation and communication skills.
· Strong analytical abilities for evaluating offers and market trends.
· Solid command of English (Intermediate or above).
· Eagerness to learn basic technical aspects of production equipment for effective sourcing.
· Ability to work across multiple sites and manage priorities in a dynamic environment
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Internediate or above English level required. Advanced PC skills,. Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Materials Logistics Management, or related discipline, experience in indirect procurement is preferred.
· Or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience.
