About the Role

Essity’s Health and Medical team is seeking an experienced Strategic Account Manager focused on the Veterans Affairs (VA) health system. In this role you will build and sustain relationships with key stakeholders in strategic sourcing within assigned VISNs (Veterans Integrated Service Networks) and with C-Suite clinicians throughout VA medical centers. The primary objective is to identify opportunities where Essity products and services can improve health outcomes for veterans, navigating government procurement and VA contracting processes to expand Essity’s presence in the federal healthcare marketplace.

This is a remote position; candidates should be located near a major airport and ideally, in a region with a significant VA presence (for example, the Southeast, Northeast, or near Washington, DC). Regular travel to VA facilities and VISN offices will be necessary.

We’re looking for people who embody our values, aren’t afraid to challenge, innovate, change, and move at a fast pace. We’re always looking for ways to improve our products and ourselves. If this is you, we’d love to talk.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and implement strategies and tactics for retention and profitable growth within assigned VISNs/VA medical centers.
  • Provide strategic direction to field sales and customer success teams to drive compliance, clinical value and growth across VA portfolio.
  • Create, present and deliver insights using executive communication and presentation skills tailored to VA leadership and federal stakeholders.
  • Communicate to leadership your customer insights, growth forecasts and innovative approaches to value-based contracts within the constraints of government procurement and VA contracting rules.
  • Identify opportunities using data trends, relationships with industry partners and alignment with VA priorities to meet growth objectives, managing a sales pipeline.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (clinical affairs, regulatory, marketing, supply chain) to ensure strategic alignment and compliance with VA regulations and priorities.
  • Create and implement strategic and operational plans by leveraging strong project management skills in a complex, multi-stakeholder government environment.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) AND seven (7) years of experience in the medical device or health products industry; ideally including leadership of teams.
  • Three (3) years of demonstrated experience leading sales strategy and development within VISNs, VA systems or other government healthcare agencies i.e. DOD
  • Excellent project management skills as well as strong business and financial acumen, especially in the context of federal budgeting and reimbursement mechanisms.
  • Deep knowledge and expertise in healthcare economics, clinical outcomes, supply chain management, and the unique operating model of the VA healthcare organization.
  • Experience negotiating contracts, navigating federal procurement (FSS/VA Schedules), and developing and executing business strategies compliant with government regulations.
  • A passion for the mission of veterans’ healthcare with an ability to empathize with veterans, advocate for their needs, and operate within the VA’s culture and values.
