The Manager, Commercial Sales plays a critical role in driving growth and shaping Polaris Commercial’s market presence. This position combines strategic market development with hands-on account management, ensuring both long-term expansion and day-to-day customer success. In addition to managing key commercial accounts and fostering strong relationships, the role leads strategic initiatives to identify emerging opportunities, develop go-to-market plans, and expand Polaris Commercial’s global footprint.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategy Development
Lead strategic discussions that grow Polaris Commercial’s presence in relevant markets and geographies.
Create go-to-market plans through strategic thinking, market analysis and relationship building.
Sales & Revenue Growth
Set and achieve sales targets across designated vertical markets.
Generate and submit formal product quotes for assigned accounts and assist other sales team members as needed.
Customer Relationship Management
Serve as the single point of contact for assigned accounts, addressing technical inquiries, order status, invoicing, and account-related issues.
Lead customer engagements and product demonstrations to promote the Polaris Commercial brand.
Primary lead contact with top customers, fostering relationships with key leadership.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with sales operations, marketing, technical, and support teams to meet customer requirements.
Lead & collaborate with internal teams to develop value propositions tailored to target markets.
Business Development
Leverage vertical market expertise to identify and pursue new direct accounts.
Develop repeatable process for prospecting revenue producing commercial accounts.
Lead global business development within rental market, hunting new commercial rental providers.
Process Improvement & Intelligence
Contribute to process improvement initiatives focused on enhancing customer experience and operational efficiency.
Compile and share insights on customer trends, market dynamics, and competitive intelligence.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Communications, or related field.
5–10 years of progressive B2B sales experience with proven track record required.
Previous experience in a leadership role preferred
Proven experience managing enterprise-level customers and navigating procurement processes.
Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
Solid numerical aptitude, including the ability to calculate discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.
Experience or aptitude in financial and insurance services is a plus.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Field based position: Eastern Time Zone Preferred, near major airport.
Home office environment with support from corporate location.
Travel: Extensive regional travel is required, estimated between 50-75%.
The starting pay range for Minnesota is $80,000 to $106,000 per year. Individual salaries and positioning within the range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. While individual pay could fall anywhere in the range based on these factors, it is not common to start at the high end or top of the range.
