Qantas Engineering in Los Angeles is home to our state-of-the-art maintenance facility which opened in 2017, where we carry out critical scheduled maintenance on our wide-body aircraft with a primary focus on our A380 and B787 fleets. We conduct ‘A’ checks, engine changes and day to day line maintenance requirements where we have departures back to Australia every night, connecting North America to Australia. Our team ensures we meet the highest standards of safety and reliability. While we continue to conduct critical maintenance for our international network, we are also preparing to welcome our first A350 to our Qantas fleet, expanding our maintenance capabilities in North America.

We are recruiting a Storeperson to join our Qantas team in Los Angeles. As our next Storeperson reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, you will work collaboratively towards delivering high-quality solutions and be responsible for day to day operational activities to ensure all aircraft parts are controlled, packed ready for delivery for servicing of our aircraft.
Working as part of the team, your key responsibilities will include:
Maintaining integrity of aircraft parts and tooling and administering all paperwork and delivery notes as per defined procedures
Following Local Area Procedures and FAA/CASA (or relevant civil aviation authority) regulations
Communicating efficiently and effectively regarding technical issues
Performing periodic audits of parts and tools to ensure accuracy of stock levels
Maintaining effective stock control at all times
Overseeing the minimum and maximum stock thresholds are maintained at all times
Sourcing aircraft spares, consumables, tools from other operators
Ensuring all applicable aircraft tools are calibrated and records maintained
Ensuring all issues and returns of aircraft tools are recorded in the Tool Management System
Perform other related duties as required by the immediate Supervisor or Senior Management.
To be successful in this role you’ll have:
Previous experience in stores or warehousing (Aviation highly desirable)
Computer literacy including MS Office
Valid Driver’s license
Basic understanding of technical documentation
Ability to clear Government and Customs security and background checks
Physically fit and able to lift 30kg (about 70 pounds)
Ability to work under pressure with limited or no supervision to meet strict deadlines
High School Diploma or equivalent
A commitment to being a highly customer-focused team worker with flexibility and willingness to undertake other reasonable duties as required
Forklift experience (preferred)
Familiarity with FAA procedures regarding aircraft parts and tools (preferred)
Familiarity with an airport as a work environment (preferred).
