Job Description

The Storage Engineer who will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting shared system resources, like disks and networking. The Storage Engineer will also work on performance analysis and troubleshooting, data recovery strategies for critical systems, and data backup measures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Liaises and engages with external vendors, suppliers, outsourcing partners and clients.
  • Offers technical support across practices in offering definition and positioning.
  • Suggests alternative technical solutions to meet client requirements more efficiently, and/or with greater reusability, and / or sustainability.
  • Provide input to sales and marketing on technical developments.
  • Attend technical training sessions for internal stakeholders.
  • Design, Develop and implement technical solutions based on customer requirements.
  • Identify complementary products that add value to core product offerings based on market needs and technology evolution.
  • Identify alternative products and competing products to maintain market share.
  • Provide weekly dashboards on technical schedules and responsibilities.
  • Provide technical support to other internal departments on system designs.
  • Provide direct support to operations of the firm’s largest managed services clients and maintain ownership along with in-depth technical knowledge.
  • Provide end-of-road assistance for entire complex environments.
  • Execute after-hours support as required.
  • Implement all technical-related solutions for organizational customers.
  • Provide precise technical documentation to assure various company members of the delivery team assist in monitoring, troubleshooting and changing complex customer atmospheres.
  • Learn automated organizational resource functions as well as terminology.
  • Ensure to learn the organization’s alert management platforms, terminology and functions.
  • Learn and attain thorough knowledge of company product offerings.
  • Upgrade knowledge regularly on the latest OS technologies.
  • Provide support or training to various engineers.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

  • University Degree in Electrical Engineering/IT, B. Tech or Engineering Diploma
  • IT/Storage network services training and extensive knowledge of the below protocols and principles:
    • Internet service, business-quality service
    • Cloud services
    • Software Defined Networks
    • Experience with data storage applications and cloud-based file systems
    • Knowledgeable in storage hardware architectures and high-level programming languages
    • Should be experienced in working in a distributed file systems environment

    • NetApp Certified Technology Solutions Professional - NCTA
    • NetApp Certified Data Administrator ONTAP Professional NS0-NCDA-CDOT - NCDA

    • NetApp Certified Implementation Engineer - SAN Specialist, ONTAP – NCIESO
  • Optional
    • NetApp Certified Support Engineer – NCSE

Years of Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience
  • Technical understanding of a system being analysed and how it affects the various business units
  • Understanding and experience on multi-vendor storage solutions
  • Experience with regards to the integration of networks with 3rd party systems
  • Able to work well with both internal and external clients and within a team
