Job Description:

We are seeking a talented Storage Engineer to join our team and assist with the migration from NetApp to Isilon storage systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in storage engineering, with specific expertise in NetApp and Isilon technologies. This role will play a critical part in ensuring a smooth and successful migration process.

Responsibilities:

  1. Migration Planning and Preparation:

    • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand migration requirements and objectives.
    • Assess current NetApp storage environment and design migration strategy to Isilon.
    • Plan and schedule migration activities, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  2. Migration Execution:

    • Execute the migration plan, including data replication, cutover, and validation.
    • Monitor migration progress and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the process.
    • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and minimize downtime.
  3. Configuration and Optimization:

    • Configure and optimize Isilon storage systems to meet performance and capacity requirements.
    • Implement best practices for data protection, replication, and disaster recovery.
  4. Documentation and Knowledge Transfer:

    • Document all aspects of the migration process, including configurations, procedures, and lessons learned.
    • Provide training and knowledge transfer to other team members on Isilon storage technologies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred) or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience as a Storage Engineer, with expertise in NetApp and Isilon storage systems.
  • Hands-on experience with storage migration projects, preferably from NetApp to Isilon.
  • Strong understanding of storage architecture, including NAS environments.
  • Proficiency in storage management tools and utilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
