SUMMARY
The Stewarding Supervisor ("Supervisor/a de Limpieza") assists the Stewarding Manager in supervising the daily operations of the Stewarding Department. This position is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, organization, and overall maintenance of all back-of-house food production, service, and banquet areas while upholding the highest standards of sanitation, hygiene, health, safety, and hotel compliance. The Stewarding Supervisor leads and develops the stewarding team while maintaining a visible floor presence to oversee daily operations and support kitchen, restaurant, and banquet operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Supervise the daily operations of the Stewarding Department by assigning work, monitoring productivity, and supporting scheduling, staffing, training, and associate development.
- Ensure the cleanliness, sanitation, organization, and maintenance of all kitchens, restaurants, banquet spaces, stewarding facilities, loading docks, storage areas, and related equipment in compliance with Health Department and hotel standards.
- Conduct regular inspections of back-of-house and Food & Beverage areas to ensure operational, sanitation, and safety standards are consistently maintained.
- Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and coordinate with Culinary and Banquet teams to ensure all stewarding equipment, china, glassware, silverware, and supplies are prepared for successful event setup, service, and breakdown.
- Partner with Culinary, Banquet, and Food & Beverage leadership to support daily operations, banquet functions, and special events.
- Manage inventory of stewarding supplies, chemicals, china, glassware, silverware, cookware, and service equipment while minimizing loss and ensuring proper storage.
- Promote a safe work environment by training associates on sanitation, safety procedures, equipment operation, and chemical handling while ensuring compliance with OSHA, Health Department, and hotel standards.
- Conduct daily inspections of stewarding equipment and coordinate maintenance and repairs with Stewarding Management and Engineering.
- Assume operational leadership in the absence of the Stewarding Manager.
- Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the leadership team.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 1-2 years of relevant experience and/or training.
- Previous similar position in a hotel, or similar business entity preferred.
- Experience running shifts, including scheduling, performance management, problem-solving, guest service, and day-to-day operations.
- Availability to work on weekends and holidays is required.
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and Health Department regulations.
- For insurance purposes, candidates must be over 21 years of age.
- Ability to drive automatic.
- Must be able to attain a valid San Diego County Food Handler certification upon hire. Evans Hotels will provide this training and is to be completed at the company’s expense.
- RBS certification required.
- Ability to always maintain a friendly, professional, team-oriented, positive demeanor and diplomatic attitude, especially under stress or challenges.
- Ability to stand, kneel, squat for prolonged periods of time, up to and including, the entire shift and lift up to 50 lbs
- The following position will be filled in accordance with the process set forth in California Labor Code Section 2810.8 and San Diego Municipal Code 311.0101 et. seq.
