BlueForce Inc. is seeking a Computer Systems Associate/Network Engineer in support of HQ USAF Sponsored or Supported Wargaming. The Computer Systems Associate/Network Engineer will support activities to plan, execute, manage, and analyze throughout all phases of HQ DAF wargames. Primary location is Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling. Secondary locations are Joint Base Andrews and The Pentagon.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Executes Equipment Management activities to account for all equipment used by USAF HQ DAF AF/A5/7MW (Wargaming) to include NIPRNet, SIPRNet, AFSCINet, and Wargame Information Environment related assets.
  • Supports the operation, maintenance, accreditation, connection, and planning for upgrades for both classified and unclassified video teleconference (VTC) activities and related physical and personnel security matters. Employee shall schedule, coordinate with other sites, and ensure proper execution of VTCs. 

Essential Functions:

  • Provides IT (software, hardware, network) support for wargame execution. 
  • Deploys, assembles, and manages LAN server suites.
  • Manages the hardware components of the Wargame Information Environment player/game support systems to include inventory, distribution to and within wargaming locations, and recovery to steady-state and storage locations.
  • Manages and operates VTC systems and Conference Room audiovisual suites.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Active Secret-level security clearance. 
  • Minimum of five (5) years in network management and engineering. 
  • Meet the requirements of DoD 8570.01-M, Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program at the Information Assurance Technical (IAT) level II or III. 
  • IAT Level II:  This level is for personnel who focus on the network and enclave environment. They have administrator-level privileges and are responsible for securing network devices, firewalls, and operating systems.
    • Core Responsibilities: Intrusion detection, system auditing, implementing security patches, and configuring network defenses.
    • Common Approved Certifications:
      1. CompTIA Security+ CE
      2. Cisco CCNA Cyber Ops / CCNA Security
      3. GIAC GSEC
  • IAT Level III:  This level is for senior technical staff—such as Senior Security Engineers, Systems Security Analysts, and Security Architects. These professionals focus on the enterprise-level enclave environment and require architecture-level judgment rather than basic device configurations.
    • Core Responsibilities: Designing network security architectures, analyzing complex vulnerabilities, handling advanced incident response, and directing security engineering teams.
    • Approved Certifications Include:
      1. CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
      2. SecurityX (formerly known as CASP+ / CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner)
      3. CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor)
      4. Cisco CCNP Security
      5. GIAC GCIH or GCED
  • Knowledge of Air Force IT enterprise and system administration.   
  • Excellent communication skills in terms of writing and presenting briefings. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • TS/SCI eligibility

Skills Required
