Job Description SummaryThe Statutory Reporting Controllership Specialist is responsible for ensuring technical accounting compliance, maintaining robust financial and operational internal controls, driving process simplification, and supporting operational excellence in the delivery of accurate statutory financial statements.
This role demands a strong foundation in accounting best practices, advanced analytical capabilities, and the ability to collaborate effectively across finance and business functions. The incumbent is also expected to support data readiness and standardization efforts — assessing data quality, documenting current-state processes and working along the statutory team on the development of automation and AI-driven solutions.

Job Description

What will you do:

Statutory Reporting & Compliance

• Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant completion of all statutory and regulatory filings in accordance with country-specific legal and regulatory requirements.
• Apply strong technical accounting knowledge and analytical thinking to complete statutory audits and the preparation and filing of financial statements in line with local standards.
• Support direct tax teams in the preparation and submission of income tax returns within prescribed statutory deadlines.
• Conduct periodic data readiness checks (e.g., chart-of-accounts mapping, trial balance structure, source-system gaps) to identify and help resolve data quality or process inconsistencies ahead of reporting cycles.

Leadership & Collaboration

• Serve as a subject matter resource to colleagues with less experience and contribute to the coordination of small-scale projects with limited risk and resource requirements.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with internal stakeholders, explain technical matters effectively, and help build alignment and consensus within the team.
• Collaborate with internal teams and, where required, limited external stakeholders to support compliance and reporting objectives.
• Support performance expectations and handle sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism.
• Partner with Statutory Transformation Team to support the development of automated solutions.

• Operate with a degree of autonomy while remaining aligned with established policies, functional practices, and review mechanisms.
• Exercise sound judgment in evaluating day-to-day issues and propose appropriate solutions beyond standard parameters when required.
• Prioritize and analyze information to support accurate and timely decision-making.
• Use technical expertise and analytical thinking to assess complex issues and develop practical recommendations.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

• Help document process maps and standard work for statutory reporting activities, contributing to broader value stream mapping and standardization efforts.
• Apply data analytics and data science concepts to strengthen reporting insights, identify trends, monitor compliance, and improve business decision support.
• Support continuous improvement and process simplification initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, consistency, and timeliness.

What will you Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Minimum experience of 2 years in financial statement audits and local accounting compliance.
• Knowledge and experience in data analytics, including Power BI or similar tools.
• Fluency in English and French.
